Suzuki 800, 1997 carb floats stuck

the floats are easy to fix...getting to them is the problem. the old gass has gone bad and will not ease up if new gass added. remove carbs undo the 4 retaining bolts on the bottom of the carbs spray with carb cleaner free them up by hand (try not to adjust anything) and replace on bike !

1997 Suzuki VZ 800 Marauder wont start

It sounds like a starter relay.the fact that the bike will start when you jump to the starter motor supports this.Your starter relay will be close to the battery and will have four wires going to it ,two lighter wires and two battery size.cables.It will be about two inches long and be black on top and metallic below.Service is by replacement only, I think they are around $25-$35.Just remember you have battery power going to the one side, don't let it ground on the frame.good luck

Tail light won't work in the on possition, but it does in the park position???

It's a separate circuit. The parking lights are activated by the shifter position. It's a running light problem. Check that your instrument lights are not causing a short. An unlit instrument bulb could cause an incomplete circuit to the tail light. Alternatively, there may be an imbalance in the total amp/volt equation. They must be the same Amperage as the factory specifies. A replaced or burnt light bulb may be the answer. Lights must be balanced or they won't distribute properly. One of the filaments in the tail light may be out/burnt. Best of Irish Luck -kell

1997 suzuki maurader over heating

Burnt Exhaust valve. If it's got a water cooling system the pump empeller blades may be eaten away. Change the radiator cap first. If it has a pin hole in the old one, the system will not pressurize. Lean mixture adjustment on carb (s) will do it too. Also ignition timing is a possibility. or a kinked oil line. -Kelly Calk- Certified Harley Davidson Mechanic.

Where is the choke on a Suzuki marauder

Your choke is a pull out knob located under your tank; it is not a part of the carb. You might be able to trace the cable from the carb to the pull out knob.

What needs to be addressed if I have a new battery and all my '97 suzuki marauder 800 does is click when I press the start button?

Your battery is new ... did it come fully charged or were you suppose to charge it before you installed it? Check the voltage, should be at least 11 volts. I might be calling the store to get further instruction ...Double check all connections, make sure they are clean and tight (and proper - negative to the ground, positive to the hot side of the start solenoid).
