Type of spark plugs for a 1999 zx6r
Hello. Just go to the local auto parts store and tell them which bike you have. They will cross reference your bike to the brands of spark plugs they carry to insure that they sell you the correct ones. Joe
How do you remove the front axle on a 99 ZX6
Its a simple nut & bolt job .Not having owned one I assume its the same as most super bikes .There will be a pinch bolt or two on eack leg .these grip the main axel bolt which is normally screwed in one leg .There will be spacers ( Take care as some times these spacers are diffrent sizes ,so remember there position ) .You need to remove the brake cylinder .But you may find that the brake cylinder unit will not clear the brake disc because the inner wheel rim is stopping it .you have to release the fluid in the piston chamber and push the brake piston / pads back to get enough clearance to clear the disc .and if there is no centre stand you will need a bike lift unit to raise the whole bike off the ground to get the front wheel out.If in doubt seek advice from your main Kwaka agent ..
Can select 1st gear and 2nd gear but am unable to
The gearbox does not need to be relpaced. The bike has a bent shift fork. The engine comes out then gets a complete tear down to get to the bad fork. This will probably cost $1200 or so. Call a dealer and get an estimate. Please rate my answer. Thanks.
Timing chain keeps jumping teeth when cam caps are
Get your self a manual, there are plenty available, either freebie (hunt around) or pay eg Ebay. But I think your problem is beyond the scope of the home mechanic and with require the need of an expert and a well equiped workshop.
How to take front wheel off
Go to this site and get a freebie manual. It is not the same year as yours, but it should give you enough information:

1999 kawzx6e will not start. new battery and spark
ok man 1st check these out,
check your fuel line, carbs, choke, high tension sparks, and air filters. Make sure u dnt flood the bore with piston by giving has while starting. It will make the plug to leak or even stop its function for a while. And set the correct plug gap. Check wether a spark cud be seen when the wire is kept a mm away from da plug and try starting. dat shud do it. otherwise tell me.
Brakes will not bleed up on front of kawasaki zx6r
Keep bleeding and ensure that you keep brake fluid level in reservoir high. It is time consuming but it can be done. Just don't let reservoir go dry or you will have to bleed all that air thru lines.
When driving the bike with the lights on it drains the battery
Have the charging system checked. Most likely you've got a bad stator (the generator), or a bad rectifier/regulator. Your bike's charging system should put out at least 6 amps of DC current, measured at the battery, at roughly 4,000 RPM.
You can also do a quick and dirty check with a regular volt meter by reading the battery voltage with the engine running. Hold the RPM's briefly at about 3,000 and the battery voltage should rise to around 14.5 volts. If not, then the charging system isn't functioning properly.
Keep in mind, too, that letting the engine idle for extended periods of time will kill the battery (even a properly functioning charging system does not put out much current at an idle).
Air filter removal?
Clean your air filter in warm soapy water with a small brush. Rinse after cleaning and allow to fully air dry and then replace.
My ninja loses power in the wind
Do you have a "RAM AIR" system on that bike, if so that may be what happens when you ride into a headwind. The bike may be running a little lean and with the extra intake pressure goes too lean.
Sump/bolt stripped
Hi, most bike shops or engineering shops can do this easily enough for you, its not real big job
1999 kawasaki zx6 starts fine then rev's high when warming...
Hi, im not an expert but i have had this problem with a few 125's and a 250, if it has air chambers on the manifold of the carb to the airbox check they are secure with no holes and tighten up the clips, check the throttle cable tension and throttle body, this might help or might not but as i said im not expert.
Headlight
You have a poor connectioin somewhere due to corrosion. I would begin by cleaning up the battery poles and the cables there. Then trace each battery wire and clean the other end with special attention to the ground wire where it is connected to the frame. Finally get a can electronic spray from any auto parts store and spray all of the connections in the headlight.
