I have a 1999 Kawasaki Vulcan VN1500A 4 speed. The second gear does not work when I upshift but when I downshift it catches. How can I fix it??

Nasty sounds like the gear selector needs either adjusting or replacing which means a pull down of the gearbox

What is the valeve clearancees

Hi Douglas there is no valve clearance listing in my books for this model which usually means they are hydraulic the only listing is for the 1300 Voyager which is 0,05-0,15 inlet and 0,15-0,25 exhaust. Hope this helps.

I have no spark to the plugs and all the fuses are fine should i check the ignitor relay or module?

Hi check the ignition switch and kill switch first also the side stand switch. After this check if there is power at the coils. These are all the simple cheap steps. Best of luck.

My 1993 vn1500 carbs are not creating a vacume

There must still be a blockage in the pilot jets in the carb it's unlikely to have no vacuum this would mean low compression

Shift trans into gear and engine stops running on a 1997 vulcan

There may be a safety switch on the kickstand so that if it is extended, the engine can not be running if it is in gear. Even if the kickstand is not down, if this switch is sticking it could be your problem. And if you don't have that switch, then I'll have to keep thinking. Almost touring weather. Nice horse!

Why does my bike start on warm days but not on

are you running 20w50 oil? if yes, probably full synthetic. try running a standard 10w40 oil or something not as heavy as what your using. heavy oil in combination with cooler weather makes for heavier oil, harder for your starter to turn the gears through it. warmer days, gears move easier.

How do I remove my mustang seat from my 2000 kawasaki vulcan 1500 classic?

On my Roadstar and my Triumph Thunderbird there is a bolt at the back of the pillion seat you remove, slid the pillion back and out then remove (2) allen head bolts from each side of the riders seat just under the edge of the seat. Slide the seat back and off. If you go to www.bikebandit.com they have a parts breakdown of most bikes and it will show the locations of the bolts and brackets. Good luck!
