1500 Kawasaki Vulcan kick stand spring keeps
Check for Up and Down play at end of kickstand. Usually these bikes will wear the kickstand mount on the Frame - wears like a half moon into it. At the same time it spreads out the Kickstand so that it can start flopping enough for the spring to come loose and fall off. To fix it - Replace kickstand, Spring, AND the Bolt. Then grind the Frame on the other side of the Half moon around the hole until it is LEVEL. Find a Washer (Stainless - .030 - .050 depending on how much you had to grind) and insert it between the Frame and the Kickstand. I have done DOZENS through the years and Never had to do it twice on the same bike. The Washer acts like a Bushing and prevents future wear. Good Luck!
Motorcycle won't turn over just get a clicking noise from a relay under the seat.
Check the connections they may be loose. If the connections are loose just tighten them and it should work. If not replace the battery. Most of the time if a battery sulfates it will still show a full charge but will not have the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) to start the bike. Take the battery and have it tested. CycleGear can test the battery I think. If not most autozones can check the battery. I am 99% sure it will need to be replaced. If the relay or solenoid were bad there would be no clicking at all. How to replace shift shaft
Best money you'll ever spend is getting a service manual from for example amazon, it'll walk you right through it. A person has to be careful following prescribed methods so everything inside doesn't come spilling out onto your bench.
Why is brake light inop when using the front brake?
There is a switch built into the hand brake. If you pull your hand brake, and don't hear a click sound, the switch probably needs replaced. Try someone else's hand brake or one on a new bike. If you don't hear a distinct click sound, you need to replace the switch.
Why won't my bike go into gear?
Sounds like your clutch has locked up. Most likely the oil that was in your clutch has gummed up and locked the plates together. Pull the clutch in and try rolling the bike back and forth. If the back wheel spins freely then it may be another issue. If it doesn't move try pushing it forward and back either by sitting on it or by standing astride it. If wheel free's up then you should be able to select gears.
