SOURCE: Bleeding clutch slave cylinder

i think youre doing the right thing. they are very stubborn to bleed because the hyd. line goes up high across back of engine before droppiing back down to slave cyl., trapping air. could try to gravity bleed by opening bleeder at slave, cap off of master cyl, full with fluid then it may start to come out after a bit. then try your process again. or can try to bleed at connections further up the line, working your way back to bleeder. hope this helps. be patient.

SOURCE: Bleeding Clutch Cylinder with no bleeder screw

I have not tried myself but see if the link below will work for your case. It is not the same model as you have but most vehicles have the same components for the non electronic parts. http://www.2carpros.com/forum/1988-dodge-dakota--bleding-air-out-of-clutch-master-cylinder-vt248517.html

How to change a clutch master cylinder on a 2006 toyota tacoma

remove line from the side of clutch master cylinder two bolts or nuts on firewall inside vehicle is a pin on the upper side of clutch remove and pull old unit out bench bleed new master by filling and pressing in on the piston of the master cylinder. if you dont have a hose fitting dont bench bleed bleed it in vehicle( this method takes longer) install back in vehicle and hook it all back up torque bolts to 25 ft lbs then bleed the slve cylinder from under vehicle near back of motor just like bleeding brakes pump up hold and release the line pressure by opening valve on slave cylinder.

Why does clutch leak off and wont go into gear 96 toyota tacoma when you push on clutch pedal goes to the floor it wont engage clutch to be able to put into gear

the most likely reason is either the clutch master cyl. needs to be replaced.or the.slave cyl. its mounted down on the transmation under the hood find the resivore for the clutch. check the fluid level.if its low , fill it back up , and look for signs of a leak
you will probally have to bleed out all of the air from the system.its done almost the same way as bleeding the brakes. Good Luck.

I'm trying to bleed out the clutch on my 1998 Mazda 626. I am having trouble locating the area I need to press to bleed it. Is there a diagram on the website or somewhere showing where this is at? I know...

The bleed nipple will be located on the slave cylinder which is mounted on the side of the transmission. If you like , you can follow the hydraulic line down from the clutch master cylinder and it will go right to it. Also, if you fill the clutch master cylinder and simply pump the clutch pedal up and down with your hand, this system will eventually self-bleed and the pedal will firm up.

My 1996 Chevrolet K3500 Dually has a hydraulic clutch, how do I change the fluid and bleed it.

FIRST REMOVE ALL OLD FLUID FROM CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER YOU CAN USE A SIPHON YOU HAND PUMP.AUTO PARTS STORES SELLS THE HAND PUMP SIPHONS. THEY DONT COST MUCH AND KEEP FROM MAKING A MESS.SIPHON OUT MUCH AS YOU CAN THE OLD FLUID IN THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER.THEN POUR IN THE NEW FLUID DOT 3 BRAKE FLUID IN CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER.OKAY YOU NEED A HELPER.LOCATE THE SLAVE CYLINDER.REMOVE SLAVE CYLINDER HOLD SLAVE CYLINDER 45 DEGREES WITH BLEEDER SCREW LOCATED AT THE HIGHEST POINT.HAVE A SMALL DRAIN PAN UNDER SLAVE CYLINDER.HAVE HELPER FULLY DEPRESS AND HOLD THE CLUTCH PEDAL THEN OPEN BLEED SCREW.CLOSE THE BLEED SCREW AND HAVE HELPER RELEASE THE CLUTCH PEDAL.REPEAT THIS PROCESS UNTIL ALL THE OLD BRAKE FLUID AND AIR BUBBLES LEAVES THE HYDRALIC SYSTEM AND WHEN YOU CAN SEE GOOD STREAM CLEAN FLUID NO BUBBLES YOU HAVE GOOD SOLID CLUTCH ALL IS GOOD.MAKE SURE THROUGH THE BLEEDING PROCESS YOU DONT LET CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER RUN DRY OR YOU WILL HAVE TO START OVER.KEEP CLUTCH MASTER CYLINER FULL BRAKE FLUID WHILE DOING THE WHOLE BLEEDING AND FLUSHING PROCESS.

Bleeeding the clutch

This is what I would do.
Fill the master with brake fluid.
Make sure the slave cylinder bleeder is closed.
Have someone pump the clutch pedal fully down and while allowing it to come fully up about 20 times and then hold down.
Now with the clutch held down ........open the bleeder and hopefully some air will come out.
Repeat until fluid appears with out air.
The clutch master cylinder piston must be allowed to come fully back in it's cylinder to take in a new load of brake fluid with every pump and in normal operation.
Another way to bleed it......is to vacuum the fluid through the system from the master cylinder .......connecting to the slave cylinder bleeder valve.

Clutch pedal stays 2 the floor on a hydralic clutch system on a 2000 camaro v8. clutch master cylinder is new also slave cylinder and clutch and pressure plate

Did you bleed the system? When you replace the the master and/or slave cylinder you have to bleed the system just as you would with brakes. There is a bleed screw on the slave cylinder. Open the bleed screw, have a helper depress and hold the clutch pedal down.Tighten the bleed screw, then release clutch. Repeat this procedure until you have removed all air from the system and the clutch pedal is firm. Keep an eye on the fluid level to avoid sucking air into the system. If you have done this, remember there is a possibility that the master or slave cylinder is defective.
