How long has the gas been running through the diesel system. If it was only a short time you should be ok. You definately need to syphon out all of the gas from the tank and the ENTIRE fuel system. The fuel pump in diesel engines are lubricated by the diesel itself so you may have an issue there. Overall i think you should be fine if there wasn't too much driving with the wrong fuel. Just make sure ALL the unleaded gas is out of the system and make sure you prime the fuel system properly when dont or else it will not start if there is any air in the system.

Lost manual what fuel does it run on

Some kerosene, some white gas, some regular, some ethyl, some unleaded, some leaded, some diesel fuel, some bunker crude oil, some deep fat fryer grease. What are you driving?
P.S. I know the history books from Germany during WWII say, the Germans ran so low on fuel that they converted some of their trucks to run on methane gas, generated by the burning of cow patties found in the farm fields.

Twin turbo 80 horse power deutz Diesel engine blows black smoke under load

Diesel engines smoke when under a heavy load. Unlike a gas engines, a diesel engine uses fuel that is more like an oil.Smoking is a good indication the fuel is not completly burning because of loaded engine spee. White smoke indicates the fuel is not ignitingefficiently. Truck, boats, tanks abd anything else using diesel fuel will smoke when it gets more fuel than it can use.. Easing up on the throttle will lessen the smoke but not eliminate.. Of coarse if the demand is lessened by applying less loadyhe fuel consumption drops. Not to worry as long as the smoke doesn't attract the EPA.

Sounds like the rings as if its the valve seals then it would only smoke on start up and then clear ,the gaps on the rings can be ok but the sideways movement in the ring grooves will pump the oil into the combustion chambers .1995 is a old car is it worth repairing or is it tme to recycle it and buy a newer car .Waht about a nice diesel citreon C3 with a manual gearbox and get around70mpg

ALOT OF SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST

Blue smoke is oil and means you have internal engine damage.
White smoke with a sweet smell means you have a blown head gasket (check antifreeze, if it's low that is another sign)
White smoke with no real smell is water in the gas tank. Grab some water remover.
Black smoke is a sign your burning to much gas, you need a tune up.

Running fine, then blew lots of white smoke that smelled like diesel, cut off and won't start again. Dee

If this is a gas engine You have probably blown a head gasket. If its a diesel engine of later years 03 or later you probably have an injector failure and or a injector pump failure. I hope this helps.
Thank You,
Roy
