Have you checked the oil filler cap for what appears to be traces of "mayonnaise"? Are you slowly losing coolant? You may have a leaky head gasket.
White smoke from exhaust is from one cause - coolant getting into the cylinder(s) from a
blown head gasket. It can't be burned, so it gets exhausted.
The good news: head gaskets don't cost too much
The bad news: a shop will charge you a pretty penny to replace yours - its labor intensive.

this sounds like you may have a head gasket that is leaking. you will need to have the compression on the engine checked when it is cold to see what is going on.the smoke is from coolant that has leaked into the engine and is being turned into steam and this is what you are seeing and once it warms up the leak seals off and should stop smoking

If the white smoke comes out when the engine is warm, then you have a head gasket leaking. Give the warm exhaust a smell, if it is a sweet smell then you deffinitly have a head gasket leak. Pull the dip stick out and check to see if there is any foam/ frothing on the dip stick. This will tell you if the coolant is leaking into the oil passages and if it is, do not drive the car. The coolant will wash your rod and main bearings causing the rotating assembly to fail. The proper fix is to replace the head gasket and have the head checked for warpage. Do not use coolant system repair compounds as they will plug your heater core and now you have that to replace also. I hope this helps.
