In this car you will need an stereo adapter. Some functions of the cars warning system are in the radio. You use this adapter to replace the factory radio. The adapter facilitates replacement of a factory radio while retaining all factory safety warning chimes and audible turn signal indicators. These adapters are compatible with amplified and non-amplified audio systems. Will retain all safety warning chimes. See this web site for more info. Autosound Central. With the right adapter you do not need a wiring diagram. It will be plug and play.

2001 Chev Malibu. Turn key on to start car, won't start. No warning lights on no lights on gauge panel. Radio works, dome light work.

check the ground leg to your engine.. it runs off the neg. battery terminal. will connect to frame and engine.. pull it off, wire brush it put it back.. you radio will work, 'cause it draws much less current, and is grounded in dash.

I'm trying hook up an aftermarket car stereo and i cant figure out where to hook the orange and orange/orange and white wire. I need the factory wire diagram

http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii320/RonJ_HCF/picture_2980.jpg

The picture says it is for 1999-2000 models, but also works for 1998.

Honda does not have orange wires, i checked a Pioneer and it doesn't either. Could it be that the yellow wires look orangeish?

Be careful, because many aftermarket units have 3 power wires: Unswitched (memory cable), switched (power cable) and dimmed (match the dashboard illumination intensity). Also, most aftermarket units have a power out, to activate the power antenna. Connecting this cable in the wrong position will probably lead to a serious short.

What is the wire color code for a2001 malibu stereo. i would like to put an after market stero in?

if you havent taken the factory stereo out of the vehicle yet, if were you i would go to an auto store and buy wiring harness that plugs into your factory harness, that gives you all the colors to match up with your aftermarket... that way nothing gets cut on or messed up... and with the electical stuff linked to the stereo system, trust me you dont want a headache like that... a harness kit only cost like 15 bucks, plus if you ever wanted to get rid of the vehicle you could take your aftermarket stereo out, and plug the factory one right back in... hope this helps
