Check your bendix on your starter to see if it is operating. The bendix is a solenoid that pushes a small gear between your starter and the fly wheel and a switch on the bendix starts your starter moter. If this bendix is inoperative, nothing will happen.

What about checking the starter? maybe an alarm problem, no car alarm ever manufactured lasts forever and when they fail it can drive you crazy.

I turn the ignition on, get power, but it does nothing when I turn the key. Starter or alternator?

If it is an automatic, put the shifter in the neutral position and try it. If it turns over the neutral safety switch needs adjusting or replacement. Hope this helps

2006 Ford taurus won't start, starter, altlernator, battery replaced, ignition starter switch, neutral safely switch changed, still nothing

I looked at info for your security system, it is starter motor disable. I didn't see 06 ford Taurus in my database, so I looked at 05.
Battery has a full charge and battery connections all good?
We can usually do some tests to see if starter motor will crank the engine, but, if the security is the problem, it still won't start.
You can check for applicable trouble codes? Try a different key?

2002 cavalier No Crank Stopped, Ignition Switch?

Check your alternator. The easiest way to do it is to start the car, and remove your negative battery cable. If the car turns off, your alternator is bad.

The car was running fine. Never had trouble getting it started. One day it just quit. No warning or sputter of any kind. Just like turning off the ignition. Now, nothing.

You might want to start with checking all the fuses, then next replacing the ignition switch. If it seems as though nothing is getting power, think about a battery and have your alternator checked.

Starter won't engage

It's most likely the neutral safety switch. Try putting the shifter in Neutral and slipping it just a little toward Park and see if it'll crank. If it does the neutral safety switch is the problem but worn linkage is the cause.
You've already check or replace everything else so it has to be this or the ignition switch.

YOU SHORTED OUT VOLTAGE REGULATOR.SOME ALTERNATORS YOU CAN REPLACE VOLTAGE REGULATOR WITHOUT REPLACING ALTERNATOR.OR YOU HAVE TO REPLACE WHOLE ALTERNATOR.ALSO CHECK IGNITION SWITCH FUSE AND ALTERNATOR FUSE.

I have a 1997 Grand Am 2.4 SE that won't start

Check battery full charge, battery terminals are clean, cables aren't cracked, broken or corroded and alternator first.

Which your having replaced your starter with new already. If you're still getting nothing it sounds like a bad ignition switch.

They wear normally and need to be replaced. But as a helpful hint don't place excess keys or weighty trinkets on your ignition keys.

They wear on the seating of the key in the ignition and often promote failure in the ignition from bearing the dangling weight.
