Is it a fixed glass or a moveable glass.

Fixed glass is placed against a bead of urethane sealer, like caulking.

the rear window to my van came off and shattered - ssw~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif WARNING: SAFETY GLASSES AND GLOVES MUST BE WORN.
ssw~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif CAUTION: Use only urethane for after-seal to service air and water leaks in urethane seal. Failure to do this may result in adthe rear window to my van came off and shattered - ssw~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif"/uploads/images/ssw~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif" alt="ssw~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif" class="h_mi" /> CAUTION: Allow all glass parts installed with urethane ample time to cure. If ample time is not allowed, glass may come loose and/or leak.

  1. Remove window wiper pivot arm (17526) .
  1. Remove all window glass stops.
  1. Using Rotunda Glass Adhesive Cutter 118-00050 or Rotunda Deluxe Glass Adhesive Cutter 163-00001 or equivalent, follow manufacturer's instructions and cut seal and dam around entire outer edge of windshield glass (03100) .
  1. Remove glass from vehicle.
  1. Trim urethane left on flange with a utility knife or razor blade until surface is smooth and free of cuts. It is not necessary to remove all urethane from the flange if it is cured. However, at no point should existing urethane material exceed 2.54mm (0.10 inch). NOTE: If urethane has not cured completely, remove all uncured urethane using care not to smear urethane on component parts.
Check flange sealing area for damaged sheet metal or foreign objects which may have caused, or may cause, glass breakage. Service sheet metal if necessary.
Installation
  1. If existing urethane on metal flange has become contaminated, cut away contaminated urethane with a utility knife or razor blade.
  1. If painted sheet metal has been exposed anywhere along the flange, apply Urethane Metal Primer WSB-M2G234-C or equivalent over the painted surface using a clean brush. NOTE: A minimum of 30 minutes is required for primer surface to dry.
  1. Place the windshield glass on a low, stable work surface, inside up. NOTE: Wipe off immediately after application because it flash-dries.
  1. Using a lint-free cloth, wipe outer 25mm (1 inch) of inside glass periphery with Urethane Glass Wipe WSB-M5B280-C2 the rear window to my van came off and shattered - ssw~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gifs="h_mi">Position mouldings on glass. ssw~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif CAUTION: Allow all glass parts installed with urethane ample time to cure. If ample time is not allowed, glass may come loose and/or leak.
  1. Thoroughly shake and stir Urethane Glass Primer WSB-M2G314-B or equivalent to ensure uniform pigment mixing.
  1. Using a clean brush, apply primer around entire periphery of glass on inside surface as shown. (Allow at least five minutes drying time.)
  1. Properly align glass to body.
    1. Make sure lower windshield glass stops are in place at bottom of windshield glass opening.
    1. Place windshield glass into opening. Center it top and bottom, side to side, with about equal clearance around opening.
    1. Using masking tape or crayon, make alignment marks at points on both the windshield glass and the window opening.
  1. Remove windshield glass from vehicle and place back on work table.
  1. Apply an even bead of Urethane Adhesive WSB-M2G316-B on top of existing urethane around entire window opening using an air pressure cartridge gun. Air line pressure should be around 276 kPa (40 psi). The bead should be large enough to seal the windshield glass but not cause expulsion into vehicle.
  1. Install windshield glass onto vehicle, taking care to align marks on glass to those on body. This must be done within 10 minutes of applying urethane.

Contact your local junkyard/salvage yard and ask them if they install that glass, they usually do, and they usually charge very little.

I have the same problem with the same window... grrr.

your window motor is probally dead. you can get a cheap one from a junk yard and they are relatively easy to install. if you dont want to try to install check on craigslist for a side mechanic they are very inexpensive compared to repair shops (no overhead)

2002 CR-V tires

There is no solution and no good explanation. Very rarely a CR-V rear window spontaneously explodes. Not common enough to take to Honda.

98 Sienna broken rear quarter window

Yes, it is possible to replace the window yourself. It is not always an easy project, as it can get long and tetious. But, if you set aside a few hours, get a cheap panel remover kit (available at almost any parts store) and be patient, you can get it whipped.

You should be able to find one at a wrecking yard for fairly cheap (much cheaper than new from a glass shop). You can also keep an eye out on sites like craigslist for people parting out the same vehicle or offering auto glass at discounted rates.

Prior to taking on the job, it would be a good idea to watch a few "how to" videos available on a number of different sites. Here's one example: Good luck!
