Car gives a **** at the 2nd/3rd shift. All the dealers wants to look at is replacing the transmission, which was already done. The car is a 2004 hyundai elantra. Someone recently told me it could be input or output sensors, but no codes come up. Any suggestions to what could be causing this?

The reason for changing the gearbox is because the factory doesnt sell spares for interior of the gearbox .either fit a manual gearbox or pay up and smile .

its most def a purely transmission issue i believe its the solenoids. have it taken to a reputable trans shop near and have them diagnose it with there speciall code reader.
Could be water that touched one of your electronics that makes your transmission having problems try to dry the Transmission electronic connectors with low air pressure and see whats happens.Good luck
this is a well known problem with the Audi-transmissions, we do have a lot of failures with them over here in Germany. ;)
There are some software updates available, in many cases this fixed the problem.
Another possibility is a faulty transmission speed sensor, this is causing the hard shift behaviour.
First you should see the dealer to check the transmission control module´s trouble code memory and to check if there is a software update available for your car.
you need to replace clutch pack for that gear can be ordered seperately from parts store or dealer if you want to save money call peach street auto recycling at 1800-365-2341 for a warrantied used one! also might be time for change trans filter and fluid filter could be slightly clogged but I lean towards clutch pack I replace these alot on Hondas
