oops got this wrong, here is the location

purge valve is located on the back of the intake plenum, if you follow the vacuum line you will come to the valve mounted in a rubber sleeve. If the canister that is mounted under the left rear corner of the car has failed the carbon contained there will be drawn by vacuum to the front and get stuck in the valve. Inspect the valve for this carbon contamination.
see picture of valve and valve location below

    1. is the valve

    2. is the location in the illustration marked #16 at back of intake manifold plenum rear of engine.

    3. is the carbon canister at rear of car.

I need to replace the purge valve in my 2003 Hyundai Elantra. I have the new purge valve and am ready to install it. However, I have no idea where the old one is located. I only know that it's under t

I sent to an auto parts place and bought it and casually asked the clerk where it went. He almost offered to go out into the parking lot to help me. He told me where it went, but then I forgot. They ran out of manuals (handy and cheap), but I got one on order. PS: Kia used the same one and it costs either the same or less. Back then there really wasn't much difference between Kias and Hyundais. You could call up one of the nationally known auto parts suppliers and simply ask the guy over the phone and tell him you'll come down and pick it up if he has one.

Let our Experts solve your "I have a 2002 Hyundai Elantra with fault code P0441 Not sure what this code means or how to fix the Problem.

P0441 is evap system insufficient purge. It means that the computer thinks the purge control valve isn;t operating properly. The fuel tank pressure sensor can send faulty info causing code to set but most of the time it is just the purge valve that needs replaced

Im getting a P0441 EVAP emission control system purge flow fault code on my 2002 hyundia elantra. im guessing a good start would be to blow out the lines and replace the vacuum switch? where are they?

P0441 : Evap. Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow

General Description
The evaporative emission control system prevents hydrocarbon (HC) vapors from the fuel tank from escaping into the atmosphere where they could form photochemical smog. Gasoline vapors are collected in the charcoal canister. The ECM controls the Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV) to purge any collected vapors from the canister back to the engine for combustlon. This valve is actuated by the purge control signal from the PCM and controls fuel vapor from the canister to the intake manifold.
Possible Cause : ● Leakage on hose to PCSV ● Defective PCSV
