Are there any exhaust leaks?, also make sure its not running rich and making manifold extra hot, there should be heat sheilds on those manifold also they may have rusted away.

Just replacing the plug or terminal will be enough. Make sure to tighten the replacement very well. Loose contacts create high electrical resistance heating the plug or terminal. High temperature creates even more resistance heating even more the plug or terminal. This is the reason why it melts. Good luck.
Check the plug that goes to the light in question I had one that melted and ruined the plug and it wouldnt work until I replaced the plug. I hope this helps you.
this is a very common problem if you go to ford dealership you can order the switch and replacement assy... plug comes with wires already to go... about six inches long you just match color and **** connect together
I think the problem is more in the plug wires/plugs. Get a long piece of plug wire, long enough to fit to any plug, and check the plugs, one wire at the time. You'll rule out wires and find the bad one if there is one.
Simplest way? Go to your nearest Autozone, and ask to hook up their portable handhelt and check your engine.
Bet it is plugs and/wires. You checked two with no response? Replace those!
