The fuses are good it turns but wont start it died at the light had gas also would switching the gas type be a problem

many reasons but start with these check and test fuses relays -fuel pump --fuel filter --ignition

Tricky. Could be a number of things. First start small. Check the wires and plugs, fuel filter, fuses. If all good, check the fuel pump relay. Switch it for another one on the car just to troubleshoot. If no start, either fuel injectors or coil pacl is bad, or fuel pump died. My guess is fuel pump. When they die, sometimes they have enough power to prime the line, but not enough to keep it going. Turn the key on and have someone listen to the pump pop on, in the gas filler neck. It may sound grinding. Bad pump. Good luck

Sounds like fuel pump is out and know there's not a reset best I can remember

I'm not a car mechanic, but, it sounds like you might want to check the fuse to the ignition switch, and, if that fails, it might be a problem with the Start Safety Switch on the transmission. Good luck.

There is a good possibility that the hazard warning and directional signal lights have nothing to do with the starting or operation of the engine. There are many things that might cause the car to fail to start. The battery must be fully charged, and in good working condition. No corrosion on the terminals. good solid connections. When you turn the key the starter motor should turn the engine over. If that works the carburetor will need gas. If you have gas and spark, the engine should run. Hope that helps.
Turn signals work with the tail lights and parking lights on the front. You should turn on the Head lights and check to see if the tail lights and parking lights come on. You will also want to check to see if the flasher is plugged in. All the light bulbs must be plugged in and working to operate the flasher for the turn signals. good luck

Check fuel pump relay under hood and fuse.If they are good it is going to be the fuel pump.

Turn the key to the on (not run) position and listen tosee if you could hear the fuel pump turn on (prime) for a few seconds. If not, check the fuel pump fuse and if its good, its probably a bad fuel pump.

How did it die? Did it feel like you were out of gas?

check all your fuses and replace any blown ones, especially the high value ones

The fuel shut off valve is not getting the correct amount of vacuum OR the fuel shutoff valve is failing.

You will need 1/2 to go over EVERY SINGLE vacuum line and check for leak.

Even it's look OK. Give it a little push to ensure 100% seal connection.


If this does not help then the vacuum switch next to the steering lock (behind dash) may be leaking or failing.

The switch is about $36 from the Mercedes dealer.

i have an 02 silverado and i had the same type of issue! wound up being a short in a wire running over the gas tank that operates the fuel pump! it would start fine and then it would die! and not start back! then it would start! take it to the dealer and have them check it - however diagnostics will not show a problem unless they can duplicate it!! hope this helps
