2003 duramax, when clod it will start drive for 30min to hour and shut it off will not start untill it cooled off for about 2-3 hours

Common problem on 2001 to 2004.5 LB7 engine but occurs when the problem is due to excessive internal leakage in your injectors dumping fuel back on the return line. Most shops change all injectors as bosch does not have a test to check each injector that will show leakage volume.

My 03 duramax started fine this morning but only

To start with, a Duramax Diesel runs on an excess of 20,000 Psi of fuel pressure. Unless you have some specialized equipment,(and know how to use it) I do not know how you could possibly tell that the fuel pressure is OK.Duramax Diesels also have had a lot of problems with glow plugs. This could explain why it will not start. Then again, it COULD be something totally different like a bad sensor. This could even be caused by a faulty fuel pressure sensor or a bad fuel pressure regulator. The best way to find out is to scan the engine computer for fault codes and read the engine data from the computer to see if all of the sensors are providing the correct input to the computer.

DTC P1093
Fuel Rail Pressure Low During Power Enrichment

The engine control module (ECM) uses the fuel rail pressure (FRP) sensor to determine fuel pressure to the fuel injectors. This is then compared to the calculated target fuel pressure as determined by the ECM. The ECM adjusts the FRP by modulating the duty cycle of the control driver of the fuel pressure regulator. Injector pulse duration is determined by the measured rail pressure and the target injection fuel into each cylinder. If a sensor circuit malfunction is detected, or the commanded fuel injection pump flow is not within the proper range for a given engine load and speed, DTCs will be set.

DTC U1000 and U1255 Circuit Description Modules connected to the class 2 serial data circuit monitor for serial data communications during normal vehicle operation. Operating information and commands are exchanged among the modules. When a module receives a message for a critical operating parameter, the module records the identification number of the module which sent the message for State of Health monitoring. A critical operating parameter is one which, when not received, requires that the module use a default value for that parameter. When a module does not associate an identification number with at least one critical parameter within about five seconds of beginning serial data communication, DTC U1000 or U1255 is set. When more than one critical parameter does not have an identification number associated with it, the DTC will only be reported once. The class 2 serial data line on this vehicle is a ring/star configuration. The following modules communicate on the class 2 serial data line:
• The body control module (BCM) • The digital radio reciever • The driver door module (DDM) • The electronic brake control module (EBCM) • The front passenger door module (FPDM) • The HVAC control module • The inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) • The instrument panel cluster (IPC) • The memory seat module (MSM) • The powertrain control module (PCM) • The radio • The radio amplifier • The rear seat audio (RSA) controller • The rear seat entertainment (RSE) assembly w/U42 • The rear wheel steering control module • The remote playback device-CD player w/U1S • The transfer case shift control module • The transmission control module (TCM) w/Allison transmission • The theft deterrent control module • The vehicle communication interface module (VCIM) w/UE1

What is ipc/dic fuse

The IPC displays the season odometer information from the BCM in the driver information center (DIC). The odometer will display an error if the IPC detects invalid odometer data from the BCM. You'll need to find a 10 AMP fuse in the instrument panel cluster, follow this diagram t locate it: https://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/2003-chevrolet-silverado-fuse-diagram/

Recommend going back to your mechanic. Especially if you were not having problems prior. If you were, then perhaps the fuel filter was not the issue.

Battery not charging

Most causes are: bad connection at battery post, corrosion inside connectors where they meet the battery posts. Bad ground connection where negative cable bolts to engine and frame. Bad alternator , take it to another auto parts store or alternator repair shop and have them test it, sort of like having a second doctor's opinion. I'd say the alternator is bad if it has a lot of miles /age on it.

2003 Chevy 2500HD 6.0 auto. Truck won't start.

No , it's not a trans module . Do you know how the starting system works ? Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? Do you have an know how to use a volt meter ? Going here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html free wiring diagrams . You need to look an see what all is involved in the starting electrical circuit before guessing as to what the problem is . Enter your vehicle info - year , make , model and engine size. Then under system click on engine , then under subsystem click starting .Click the search button then the blue link. Looking at the wiring diagram i see IGN E fuse 10amp , the park neutral postion switch , starter relay , IGN A fuse 40 amp . I do not see a trans module , but i do see the PCM -powertrain control module . The PCM has both trans an engine control modules in one box. The PCM will energize the starter relay if there is no anti-theft system . Do you have a security light lit on the insturment cluster ? No crank good starter how to troubleshoot any car Hyundai

Instrument panel cluster gauges and odometer has stopped working

I had all my analog instrument panel gauges stop working after they did the state emissions test. I found the proper fuse in the fuse block located under the hood. Simply unplugged the fuse, noticed it was still good, and plugged the same fuse (10A) back in and all the gauges started working again. Guess it needed a reset atfer they plugged in for the emissions.
