I have a 1994 full-size Silverado Blazer, 5.7L, no substantial modifications. the 15 Amp fuse for the brake lights keeps blowing out, minutes after I replace it. the blinkers, tail lights, and all other electrical work fine. the bulbs are good. Hazard lights haven't worked right for a while....could this be related? How do I go about finding the "bad connection" that keeps burming my fuse?

SOURCE: 2007 chevy silverado brake lights dont work

In the fuse block under the hood on the left fender.
Check fuses #25 and #27 both 15amp. There is also
a 15amp fuse in the fuse box behind the trim panel
left of the instument cluster. Check these first. if they're ok, with the key off and the brake peddle
depressed check the stop light switch for power out.
The switch is on the top right side of the brake peddle
If you have pwr. check the junction box located on
the left rear inner frame rail. Using the test light I
forgot to mention on the stop light switch. Test for
power at the dark green and yellow wires. If there's
power there check the sockets. By the way if the
fuses are ok, replace 1 bulb and see if it works before
all the testing. I've seen stranger things happen.
Hope this helps.

Is it ok to put a 15 amp fuse on a 10 amp starter fuse for a 2004 grand am

You should never increase the size of the fuse in anything because you can potentially cause a fire. Are you sure the original fuse was 10 amps? It sounds like if it is for a starter the fuse size should be substantially larger. Check the fuse panel just to make sure that the original was only 10 amps

My 4x4 fuse is poping on my 1994 cheve silverado 2500

a fuse only blows when it is overloaded eg.if you have a 10 amp fuse & the unit it supplying power to is drawing 15 amps it will blow, that is why the fuses are there, firstly make sure you have the right amperage fuse,if it keeps blowing, whatever it is supplying power to is faulty, don't try and overcome the problem by using a bigger fuse as you may start a fire......hope this helps.....cheers

My fuse keeps blowing for brake lights golf v6 4motion please help

Sounds like you have a short or some bad wires. If everything is fine in regards to wires, connections, grounding, proper fuse size (sometimes you get the wrong fuse), and there are no shorts, I suggest running a voltmeter and checking the power through there. You should never be above 15 volts

I have a 1998 chevy blazer (s-10) 4.3L 4x4 it keeps blowing the #15 (10amp) 4wd fuse, if you put a 10 amp fuse in it will blow the minute you turn it on ,then we put a 15 amp in it seems to do it when you...

check transfer case electrical switch, sometime if it bad it will also blow the fuse. don't recommend you put any higher fuse than recommend, If the fuse blow there is a short some where and by putting higher amp fuse you might short or burn something else beside the fuse. if that check out than check your transfer case motor, might lock up and not allowing the motor to turn instead it short the fuse. don't drive the car, just leave it in park, put correct fuse amp back in and unplug transfer case electric switch and turn the key on (dont start the car) and see if the fuse blow; if not plug it back in and see if it blow the fuse. if that is not the case, unplug transfer case wire, and do the same and see if it blow the fuse.

Chevy silverado keeps blowing fuses

Your 20 amp fuse will not blow if glowplug wire shorts. each plug draws 15 amps which is 120 amps total.I think there are in line fuses for them. Try to wring out where each output from the fuse goes, disconnect all and reconnect one at a time till it blows. That should point to your problem process of illumination! Good Luck!!

1998 Jeep Cherokee blown fuse

Hello There

15 Amp sounds too small. It should be around 25 -30 Amp. You need to double check the size of fuse needed.

Hope this helps.
