I'm attempting to do a timing belt change on my 2004 Chevy Aveo. The problem is when I took off the old timing belt I forgot to loosen the tension using the water pump. When I tried to install the new...

Yes,there is a special wrench that fits the water pump. You have to loosen bolts on pump and put wrench on pump and turn pump to get belt on. Then tighten pump till marks line up on tensioner, then tighten the pump back down. Be sure to roll the engine around twice and recheck timing marks on crank and cams.

My 1999 Ford Contour SE wont start

It's possible that the defective plugs blew out the Ignition Control Module. Are you getting any spark from the plugs? Try removing one of the plug leads, hold it about 1/4" from a metal surface, and have someone crank the engine. You should see a strong spark. If not, then I'd replace the ICM and see what happens.

Loss of power on acceleration with my 2004 trailblazer

Hi,

I had a similar problem. It was my waterpump. I got lucky and was close to dealersip, so no major damage. Before it failed (about three months before) I noticed the decline in acceleration, dealership missed diagnosing the problem twice. They finally figured it out, when it failed and started clunking in the truck. Was an expensive fix but not as bad as destroying the motor.

Get the water pump checked asap. they changed an air line valve connector thing first which did not fix the problem.

Also, I had a fan belt changed just before the water pump failed. The new fan belt put too much pressure on the failing water pump, causing it to crash and burn about one week after the belt change.

Hope this helps you.

2002 olds alero wont start not security problem

You will have to see if you have spark and gas first of all. When you first turn the key to "on", you should be able to hear the fuel pump cut in for just a couple of seconds. If it doesn't, check fuses and relays. If they are okay check to see if there is power at the fuel pump. If there is, you need to change the fuel pump.
Get a timing light and hook it to any spark plug wire, and see if you have spark. If you don't, first, i would check the timing belt. If it's okay, try changing the ignition coil pack.
Let me know how you make out when you get that far.

Changed water pump on 1994 dodge dakota sport

Hi my name is Allen!
Not sure how changing a water pump could cause a no start, but it sounds like the main Ignition Fuse may have blown some how, or you accidently knocked a connector loose some where. Check the PCM and make sure all the connectors are plugged in tightly.
