1998 Dodge Ram Diesel 24 valve. Died while driving, Took to injector pump specialist. He replaced transfer pump said injector was good. Ran diagnostic and pulled a PCM code (needs replaced) Took to Dodge they replaced PCM and still will not start. They swear it?s the injector took back to injector specialist and he says the injector is good. He says the PCM needs replaced (still). I am fed up with this, two mechanics cannot agree on what problem and I am sick of replacing expensive parts that do not fix it. Please help

It's almost never a pcm. You need to check things like the fuel pressure when this happens. I'd take it to a better shop as alot of tests require special equipment.

Im not to familiar with the cummins but, If you have a pdm box on it thats probably the culprit. If they have them it should be mounted by or on the intake somewhere. Its a little black box with a plug going to it. If this is the problem they are pretty expensive. Hope I was of some help.

CODE P1291 - NO TEMPERATURE RISE FROM INTAKE AIR HEATERS CODE P1693 - DID NOT SEE BUT LOOKING IN CODE BOOK P1691 P1694 PROBLEM IN THE FUEL INJECTION PUMP OUT OF CALIBRATION AND PROBLEM IN DIESEL PCM. DEALERSHIP HAS TO FIX.THEY HAVE TO HOOK UP DIESEL ENGINE TIMING EQUIPMENT TO TIME INJECTION PUMP TIMING CANT FIX AT HOME.
