Look in the owners manual or the booklets. The dealer will put the code inside with the papers some times. Other way is goto the dealer and they will. Charge you to do it and get them to give you the code for when it happens again

SOURCE: radio error on Acura

We had the same problem. As advised from another website, we unhooked the battery and hooked the cables together for about 10 minutes. This reset the radio and allowed us to put in the 5-digit code. Now we're jammin'!

SOURCE: My 2003 Kia Rio Cinco back hatch latch handle is

We had the same problem.
I took out the bolts outside, then crawled into the back area of the car, and took a screw driver, and slid it along the inner hatch catch, and found the safety latch and released the hatch. Then I took the inside off, and disconnected the handle device from the inside. It was rusted, and broken. I went to Kia, and bought a new one and reinstalled, after greasing the new one up. Took me a while, but they wanted 280.00 in labor, so it was well worth it.
Just be patient and go slow. A good metric socket set will be the best thing, with a regular and phillips screw driver.
Good luck
David

SOURCE: Radio Anti-Theft turned on.

i had the same vehicle and my code was 8040. What really bothered me was this car was sooooo cheap, the stereo was cheap, the whole integrity of the car is cheap, however they have an anti theft on the stereo. ha ha lol! Don't spend any money trying to figure it out, either pick up a new stereo or give the car away!

I put a new starter on a 2005 Kia Rio and it's still not cranking.. is there a relay or restart. Button for the fuel pump

"not cranking"? So the engine doesn't turn over at all when you turn the key?

The starter solenoid is the 'relay'. All vehicles have an inertia switch in circuit with the fuel pump, but that only operates when the car has an impact.

When the starter was replaced, the battery was almost certainly disconnected which means the anti-theft system needs to be reset. Is there a red light flashing on the dash?

How to reset cd players

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio/CD player. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your Kia service centre and get them to enter this code for you.

Replaced the battery in my 2005 Kia Rio and it locked the radio. Need to reset the radio

You can't reset it yourself. It takes a scanner at your Local Dealership to do it. People do it, (new battery) everyday unaware that doing so can and usually does, arm the theft system and either kills the radio or the whole car. To me it's just another built-in defect that requires dealer assistance. It's a buzzkill I know, and it probably won't be long until car owners won't even have access to the engine compartment. They will need your VIN, and then they call HQ to get the code for your radio.

Kia rio 2002 model how do i decode my stero its asking for a code

Check the owners manual, there's a 4 digit code in one of the manuals for the radio...Try the code 1212 or 1111....if you enter the wrong code too many times it locks up and you have to disconnect the battery cable and re-connect it to reset the lock on the radio...call the dealership service department and a tech will provide you the correct code to unlock the radio

I bought a used 2003 Jetta for my daughter with only 12,000 miles on it. The Monsoon radio suddenly stopped working. The display shows FM 88.1 (the radio staion) but there is no sound and the radio is...

May just be the wiring of the car or maybe something is loose or became disconnected. If the radio has been removed then that's an easy problem to get. It may also be the anti-theft system. Some vehicles can be very difficult to install a stereo system or any other add-on because of the way it's wired for the anti-theft.
I have also heard that some of the Jettas had wiring problems that were hard to trace. I know someone who had one that was an early 2000 model.
Try to find out if there were any recalls about that, but I would probably just get another one installed at some place that's experienced with radio installations because they would know how to wire these thing in. Hope this helps
