thank you for your response,I did have the alt tested 3 times, each said it was good. 2 times bench tested and once on the van, the van test said to check wiring so I did and found no loose connections or bad wires that I can find. From what I've been told this ALT doesn't have a regulator, voltage regulation is done thru the main computer. I don't know if that is the problem or even how to check it.

You should have 14.5 +/- with the AC on you might have a week regulator or week brushes in the Altenator . but not enough at this time to cause a no start . but do have the alt tested (Load tested) at a parts store .

What makes the 2008 Dodge Caravan 2.0l act as if it is losing voltage?

Had same problem with a Dodge Ram, checked all my grounds they were good still clean and retightened them to be sure put that was a waste of time, it wasn\'t the problem, I had intermittent starting problems and sometimes it would die, it would act like a dead battery, if it had problems starting it would spit and spatter as if it was off on the timing, it ended up being my PCM

We have a 1993 Dodge Caravan 2.5L L4. New alternator, new battery, new starter, all 7 relays under hood and PCM "one thats in the air intake assembly". Still not charging back up. fine during the...

I have pasted your schematic below. With all new parts, the likely problem is with the wiring. If the car runs OK, the wire with the orange stripe is probably fine. So then you need to check the green wire to the computer for good continuity. Then check the black battery wire and fuse. Finally, check the ground wires. You might try connecting jumper cables directly from the battery to the alternator and turning the lights on to see if good connections make a difference. If they do, then take one off at a time to see which one is the problem (positive or negative).

1996 dodge caravan 2.4liter battery light came on while driving and would not go off.,what is the cause?

Either the battery is bad, or the alternator. Sometimes it could be a bad connection or corroded wiring as well. So double check all the connections. You can take your battery into most parts stores like autozone's and have them tested, they can also test the alternator if your trying to make the repair yourself. Depending on the mileage and the last time you replaced the battery if all the connection are clean and look good it is safe to say it's the battery or the alternator.
Thank you,

2001 Dodge Grand Caravan battery light is on. Battery and alternator have been checked and are ok. What could be wrong?

The alternator has a bad diode in the diode bridge in the alternator, this turns the light on,even though the alternator checks good, and is charging correctly, there is a bad diode, this diode ,along with others, changes ac voltage to dc voltage,if not replaced,it will start causing components to go out.
