If the Toyo has a Nippon-Denso starter, the Solenoid is the Relay....It is an integrated function to engage the drive gear and high amp motor run to turn the engine over....What are Your symptoms.....The 14 ga. Black wire with white stripe connected to the solenoid is the signal from the ignition switch.....low voltage here will not actuate the solenoid......John Deere sells a Relay that taps the battery terminal at the starter for signal voltage...The Black wire with white stripe will trigger this relay at a lower voltage......Really nice set up if installed properly.....Everything is right at the starter and no voltage drop at the solenoid......Ask John Deere for Starter Relay Mod. The will know what you talking about....Don't forget to disconnect the negative battery cable before installing the relay kit........

There is supposed to be a starter relay behind drivers side valve cover, above transmission bellhousing, mounted on engine block.

I am chasing the exact same problem. I have put it down to no power feed past dome fuse no8 the light gauge wire, blue/yellow trace is under stress behind the heater box and can break internally. I think mine is broken between fuse 8 and inside the car, as there is no continuity between the two points on my vehicle, and there is on my brothers car, same car
