Using a test lamp, check to see if power is getting to the relay when you turn on the headlight switch. If not, the switch probably needs to be replaced.

to reset the light you need to remove speedo dash assembly ,on the back of the printed curcuit there is a small screw and a hole next to it remove screw and fit to empty hole . refit assembly

1990 22re same problem surge when pedal was depressed thought it was booster or check valve still didnt fix it i even put a brand new booster on it just to make sure still no fix it finnally went away on its own for about a month now it does it just sitting at an idle with out the brake pedal depressed traced all vaccum lines no problem there and still have no clue

First off...do not follow some of the posters on youtube telling you to grab a moving fan blade with your fingers. Good way to lose fingers doing that. Check the bolt that holds the back of the transmission to the cross member. It may have fallen out, allowing the transmission to shift right. If that is ok, remove the stick shift boot to see if the stick it hitting the edge of the floor board opening.

does it have ac if so watch your ac compresor if it engages and your rpm drops at the same time thats the issue

indicates you have installed the clutch plate incorrectly the raised hub section is hitting on the flywheel bolts instead of facing back into the pressure plate opening only fix is box back out and turn the plate around

Is it auto or manual. Does it seem to be using all the fluid from the plastic overflow/filler bottle after each start. If its a electric fan, does it work??

Sounds like you have no Torque converter lock up function. The wiring connector for T/C lockup solenoid must have been disturbed or the solenoid is bad. No lock up will make a 200 RPM difference in high gear

You MIGHT have a vacuum leak which is affecting the timing.

I don't know if there are any rebuild kits, I haven't heard of any, but your local parts store like an O'Reilly's should carry a universal portioning valve for around $80.00 or you can try Toyota for a new one $$$ or try Ebay, they vary in price from about $60.00 - $400.00. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=toyota+brake+valve You could also try taking it apart and cleaning it, if the brake system was never flushed on a regular basis, then more than likely it's not a defective valve, it's just clogged up with sludge.

you definatley have a crack in cylinder head or block,,may be a head gasket too,,,you need to take it a part to see the problem,,no easy fix..not what ya want to here sorry..
