U need the special wrench to lower the spare, there is no other way since the cable hoist is under the spare tire.

There is a place at the rear, into which you put the jack handle, then turn counter clockwise and a cable releases the tire.

Need to change the tire on my 2008 chevy tahoe but never received the jack and accessories with the truck. don't know how to release the spare and can't get the covers off the lug nuts....please help.

Never recieved the jack and accessories? or just don't know where they are? If it is the latter, the subject is covered in the Owners Manual starting on page 5-86. It explains where the equipment is located as well as how to use it. If you would like to download a PDF version of the Owners Manual, you can get it here. 2008 Tahoe Owners Manual

If you really don't have the equipment in your vehicle, the only thing I know to tell you is to call a local repair shop for some assistance. Then you need to get with your local dealer to acquire the equipment that your vehicle is supposed to have onboard.

Can't get the spare tire down on an 06 chevy sierra

you might need to use a tire iron or some sort of large tool to wedge it between the floor of the bed and the tire, they can get 'stuck' there after sitting up there for years-if the cranking mechanism is frozen you can try to spray it with some spray lubricant and let it soak, freeing it up.

I HAVE A 2008 CHEVY COBALT, THE CHECK TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT IS STAYING ON. HOW DO I GET IT SHUT OFF?

All you should need to do is check and set all tire pressures and make sure to check the spare also, after all tires are set with air you then drive a few blocks and the light should reset if the light does not reset then you will need to find out which wheel has a bad air pressure sensor, this is done with a tool that is put on the valve stem or a scan tool to see which tire is showing the wrong pressure, hope this helps.

The lock on the spare tire rack of my 2006 Chevy Silverado is screwed up - how do I remove it? Will the rack function without it? If not, what replacement parts are available?

Easiest and Cheapest fix is to torch it or hacksaw it unable the spare tire is free! Then put your tire in the back or your truck! There are tire carriers designed for your bed! Check out LMC trucks it's where I found out about it... I've already moved my tire to the bed just to elminate this extremely common problem with using the factory tire carrier under the truck... Think about it... Where does all the snow and water go on your truck? Under the truck, right? So aviod using the facotry location at all cost or it will cost you... Someday...

I got slightly larger new tires only on my 08 chevy 2wd silverado now got a "Service Tire Monitor System"

If the tires were the exact size the problem would not be there. Replace the sensor to the size tires or replace the tires back to the same size it was before

I put 26in rims on my 2008 sierra 1500 and the service tire monitor system came on. how do i turn this off?

Depending on what type of monitor it has its could be an easy fix. If they use a band type monitor that wraps around your wheel just have your tire shop pull the monitors off all your wheels and put all four of them on your spare. Given, you'll never know when your tires are low via dash light but we all managed to do without that for years anyway. On the plus side you'll be POSITIVE on the pressure of your spare.

How do you remove the spare tire from a 2006 chevy uplander?

To remove the spare you need to access tools stored in the back of the vehicle, passenger side storage area. Open llftgate, remove net (if equipped), lift tab and remove cover to tool storage. Attach folding wrench to extension, insert 'chisel' end on an angle through the hole in the rear bumper and into the hoist shaft. Turn wrench counter-clockwise to lower spare enough so you can pull it from beneath the van to detach. Good luck!
