Possible causes for Service Traction Control notice on dash. 2008 GMC Acadia 2 wheel drive v6

2008 GMC Acadia, service traction control notice on dash. My wife told me the bell dings three times, stops and then repeats again, the forward display seems dim, and the car jerks during acceleration, and deceleration.

Traction control issues are usually a bad reading for a wheel speed sensor. If you have the computer scanned it should tell you where it is registering an error.

SOURCE: traction control

Had the same problem with mine. A couple of questions to ask. Have you replaced either of the front hub assemblies and does the brake light on the dash illuminate too. If so, dealership will have you replace both hubs costing you more money. Problem is with aftermarket hubs, the electrical connection is not tight enough sending a message to the computer. Apply some dilectric grease and you should be good to go. Good luck.

SOURCE: traction control off, service traction control,

{: ) Your stabilitrak system may not work properly. The vehicle need to be scanned for trouble codes. In case you get a C0196 code, the recommendation is to reprogram the electronic brake control module. I hope that's the only cause.

If you do have a bad wheel sensor you will need to have a scanner to identity which wheel is bad. But sometimes if you look at the sensors you may see where a wire has been broken.

I have a 2008 Saturn outlook sometimes it will say traction control off and then says reduced engine power and it will viberate. You can shut it off and let it sit for a few minutes and start it back up...

What garage was it at ? Dealer reduced engine power means there is a problem with the electronic throttle control .this will shut off traction control off . Were there any DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes read from the PCM - engine computer .

Service traction control light

The light has to be on when it is checked. Also it could be something as simple as tire pressure that is causing this.

Who can i tern off traction control

{: ) Under normal operation, the default mode is ON for the traction control system. But if for certain reasons you don't need it while driving, you can manually turn it off. There is a traction control disable button, I think just below your front a/c controls. You will see a triangular symbol with a slipping car inside and a diagonal line across the symbol.

"TRACTION CONTROL OFF", "SERVICE STABILITRAK" messages has been popping up in my 2008 Acadia since last few months.

This is your cars computer warning you she needs attention. Most vehicles with complex systems require the auto dealers computer to decode these messages and reset the system after the worn part is replaced and or necessary adjustments are made. I hope this helps you.
