The radio/stereo pops or snaps, turns off then back on. Have to reset the time. I put a new fuse in it. The radio works again, could this be an electrical problem somewhere in the system?

SOURCE: Electrical Problem- 2006 Trailblazer

I had a problem like yours and the dealer could not solve it. I went to a private electrician and took the main fuse box out and found that a soldering was broken. It soldered it again and the problem was gone. Check it and if this is also the solution for you, please publish it on FixYa.
Good luck

After the battery died on my Chrysler the stereo now will not turn on

Some radios will go into theft lock if battery voltage is lost. You may have to talk to local dealership/service department, if that is the problem?
I know you have a Chrysler, but, I don't know year and model? Did you check voltage and ground for the radio?

Factory Bose stereo cut off in my car. I was pulling the fuse out under the hood and when I would put it back in it would work. Know it won't work at all. I bought a new fuse thinking I blew a fuse bu

Some factory radios are designed to shut down if power is removed from them - like when they are stolen. This feature is the anti-theft device for the radio. Most seasoned thieves know it is going to be a hassle to get it turned back on again.

Contact your dealer's service manager and ask how to go about getting the radio turned back on again. Explain it exactly as you did here. You may have to pay to re-activate it - so be prepared.

Good luck!

Dash light doesn't work

Check fuses for dash light / instrument display. If the fuse is good, you may want to check if stereo share an illumination wire with dash. You may have broken the connection behind stereo.

Today I had a new stereo installed into my car at a local car audio shop. After the install, most everything went fine until I stopped to get some gas about a block away. I turned off the car, got out, got...

One thing these audio shops do sometimes is drill through the firewall and several times in my career have seen where they have drilled through the harness and repaired with **** connectors and it does not work. They need to recheck all of their work. When I put radios in any of my cars, I always buy the harness which splices to the radio harness and then allows you to simply plug the wires into the vehicles harness so everything works properly. Did they install a sub woofer, amp or anything else that may require a seperate power wire? Make sure either they fix properly or send it to Kia to have the wiring harness replaced (I have done this too) and they pay for it! Let me know if you need anything else.

How do i reinstall the stereo

The instrument panel cover (and therefore the radio bezel) is fastened to the dash frame with snap-clips which cannot be seen with the instrument panel cover installed. To remove the instrument panel cover and gain access to the radio cavity, remove the radio fuse from fuse panel located on the driver's side of truck (the one that has a thumbnail opening and is triangular shaped), visible when you open the driver's door. Then set parking brake all the way down, put key in ignition and turn to "on" but not "start" and put gearshift into "L" position.
The snap-clips are located at the upper right corner, lower right corner, upper left corner, lower left corner and a few places in between, behind the dash cover over the instrument panel. You don't need any tools, just put your fingers on the seam of the dash cover and the the dash body, and pull firmly toward you until the instrument panel cover pops out and GENTLY so as not to break the instrument panel cover, continue until the instrument panel cover is loose from the dash and resting on the steering column. The headlight switch, and 4X4 switch (if equipped) remain in the instrument panel cover and will have to be unplugged to remove the instrument panel cover from the dash completely. This is a snug fit, even with the gearshift in "L".
The aftermarket radio bezel will have two screws at the bottom under the radio on the dash frame. Remove these screws, and remove the aftermarket radio from the radio cavity in the dash. The factory radio has two guide pins on the back, and the electrical connector is made into the radio and again in the back of the radio cavity. Simply slide the factory unit into the radio cavity, firmly seat it into the connector and guide pin sockets, and re-install the two screws you took out earlier.
The instrument panel cover re-installs the reverse of removal, and to seat the snap-clips, simply strike the cover sharply with the heel of your hand over each clip location. The dash will pop right back into place, and you will never know that an aftermarket head unit had ever been in there.

Radio will not work until I reset it by pulling the fuse.

I bet updating the vehicle computer will provide no benefit
to a radio / stereo problem. If the stereo is a 2008 and there's
never been any service on it, there may be an internal memory
battery on the mainboard that has died. Higher function radios
have memory back-ups that retain user settings & instruction
sets. The fancier the features, the higher the likelihood. removing the fuse cuts ALL power to the stereo and forces
a re boot to the processor that runs all of it's functions.
leaving it fused but shut-off never turns it completely-off
and allows the system to get goofed up -
(without the back-up to retain things).
Just to find out will require removing the stereo from the car.
No dealership repairs stereos - search for DELCO car stereo
repairs shops to get an estimate, giving your symptoms.
