Your gearbox is still turning with the clutch depressed, which means it has not released properly.

The most likely cause is low fluid and air in the clutch hydraulic line, which then needs to be bled, or if a cable operated clutch, the cable is stretched or broken, and needs replacement.

If it happened very suddenly the likely cause is that the clutch throwout fork, inside the bellhousing, is bent or broken, and cannot push the release fingers down.

2005/6 Hyundai Tucson. Why is the slave cylinder arm lever fully extended?

It sounds like something not put back correctly or adjusted. Was the slave cylinder arm push in when you bled the system? There may be air behind it. Did you use a pressure bleed system, slave up to Master. Lots of help in the links.

Hard to move gear shift 6 speed manual

That smell is your clutch material burning up from the engine reving and the clutch being partially engaged. When a clutch gets that hot a few things happen, the clutch disk material wears down giving less grab and the pressure plate overheats causing warpage, erratic engagement, slippage and weakening of the metal spring or flanges that apply pressure to the clutch pack. The clutch might be damaged, your (or the previous owners) driving habits may be wearing it at an accelerated rate or there could be a master/slave cylender issue.

Hyundai accent manual transmission

Your synchronization rings are worn out. These rings and responsible for bringing the lay shaft and drive shaft to the same speed so gears can mash easily.

I cant get my car into gear, but i can when i turn the engine off it goes in , i think i must have snapped the clutch cable but were can i check this.(HYUNDAI TUCSON )

yes most obvious is the cable or the hydraulic system ,but it could also be the clutch itself ,if you warm engine up ,then stop it and put in first gear and then start engine it will pull away ,you can then change gear with no clutch by just applying a slight two finger pressure on the gearstick and the throttle is released it will change up a gear with no problem and change down as well so you can drive it to the workshop for them to repair. When you have driven a old seddon atkinson with a gardner engine back to the yard with no clutch and crash gearbox you can master anything .

Transmission wont engaged when mashing the clutch

Sometime this can be a sign of a bad clutch plate. This happens when you are pushing in the clutch, but the wheel that locks the clutch into the next gear just keep spinning.

Clutch

You have to unbolt and remove the release bearing lever on top of the transmission( where the slave cylinder is ).
