Never buy a car from Ebay. When they tell you the clutch is a little high, that means it is worn thin and needs to be replaced. Mileage concerns and how well the entire car was maintained have a great affect on the condition and value of the car. You will never know how or if the car has been maintained properly. Remember ...It's buyer beware.

the Getz is a fairly reliable car with few problems
However when your attention has been drawn to a clutch problem, then what else is being hidden that is more serious
Be very careful that the seller is the owner
Personally I would rather be looking at a reputable dealer where some form of warranty is with the car

Worn Clutch plate or thrust plate.

Check if hydraulic Clutch
if so check clutch fliud level . Could be a faulty clutch master cyclinder in hydraulic system.

Most likely is the switch itself that workes when you place it into reverse. I woud start there.
