My car did this. I could actually park and feel my car raise up or down. Looking at my car it was sitting completely crooked as if I had hydraulics. lol I have a 2001 Discovery II. When I had it fixed at the dealer it was the rear airbag which is part of the air ride suspansion. I hope this helps.

How long should it take for the self leveling rear suspension in a 2005 GMC Envoy XL Denali Edition to almost go empty. If i let the car sit overnight most of the air is gone and the rear is low, however...

The air suspension system should stay up for several days without going completely down, which probably means that you have a small leak which is quite common even on relatively new air bags or struts.

A general rule of thumb is that if the compressor isn't kicking on several times during a drive then they are good to go. The air bags are a pain to change, so most people don't change them until they are really bad.

Air suspension light was on then there was a loud noise like something heavy had dropped in the trunk so I stopped and noticed that the rear of the body was sitting down on the back wheels

You will find that the rear air suspension hose has failed. To check, wieh the car running listen for a loud hiss. That is where the leak is. Take it to a dealer you pay $200 plus. Fix it yourself, fifty cents.

Chanses are the leak willbe at the drvers side rear connector to the shock. hope that helps

1999 Series2 Discovery rear suspension stays up when static and set to hi level. At normal level sometimes drops in 1 hour sometimes overnite, stopped to collect luggage dropped immediately didnt raise,...

Probably an air leak in one of the bags (£100 or so), should replace it as your compressor will be working harder than it should be, and will eventually also fail!
Could also be the height sensor (£35) but that is less likely.

Land rover Discovery 2004, rear right hand side down 2 inches

If you have the coil spring suspension, then your spring for that corner has really sagged[doubtful] I suspect you actually have the rear air suspension ,and the air spring for the Right/Rear has lost air, allowing the rear end to lower down greatly. Usually, you need a new air spring when one develops a leak. You may or may not be able to see the leak with a spray solution of soapy water after the spring is removed for inspection. Sometimes you have to apply about 20psi of air pressure into the spring to inflate it a bit, then put the spring under water in a big enough tank/tub of water to catch the leak that way.
