Why wont my ipod play in the sport when i close the console lid ? Is it normal to have to leave the lid open ?

Your car may need a software firmware update, contact the local Ford dealer for details.

are you conecting your ipod with the speccial cable or via auxiliar...?

If there is no auxiliary port on the front of the stereo, then you will have to try and find an iPod interface cable that you can wire into the factory stereo. You can use the FM modulator type of iPod adapters, but the sound isn't as good as when it is hard wired. You can look for the iPod interface kits online at a lot of car audio stores. we have an ipod with an fm transmitter,(accessory)plays in any car wire free....trouble is when you brake hard, you cant find the damn thing......

Will be ways cheeper buying a new car radio with an Line-input.
Check anyway if there isn't a line-input at the back. Then you could fix a jack female socket somewhere, connected to that line input.

put an earphone in the i pod and if you get sound in the ear phone check your cable going into radio

this is most likely an antenna problem.

u can buy a cable that splits from an audio output into the red and white cables so u can hook it up to anolog jacks

I had exact same problem, but what I found out was a three step solution to the problem.
1) The trunk lock above the trunk lid tself - sometimes looses coiling retention for the lock to work properly, which in effect does not properly lock wrap around the pull down electronic unit located in the body of the car/trunk that catches and pull the trunk lid down SOLUTION: check and make sure lock is works properly. you cab check by opening trunk and locking it with remote key, then pry the lock with a screw driver to see if it unlocks or stays locked

2) The motor catching unit in the body of the car/trunk that catches the lid and draws it down can be off balance (sitting too low to catch the lock (upper trunk lid with lock) to pull it down and stay locked. Have a mechanic - Audi preferrably, check the positon and allignment to adjust it, so it can catch trunk lid and lock to stay locked. HOPE THIS HELPS!

Yes. I know of two units out there: Denison's IceLink, and the Phatnoise box (or Phatbox, as some call it). I believe both install the same way. You figure out where you want the iPod connector (say, glovebox). Pull the stereo out of the dash, disconnect the CD changer (you'll lose the changer function with these but who cares?), and plug the adapter cable into the changer's port. It'll allow the iPod to play through the factory stereo, and will allow you to control the iPod with the buttons on the factory stereo.
