The Caravan horns are dual frequency horns. One is a higher frequency and the other lower. Try to determine which one you need by disconnecting the electrical connectors one at a time and get a replacement at a junk yard. Hella makes good replacements.

The horns being made and used today are not so very good. If you had access to one, you might try a used one, particularly if it were cheap. You would need to be certain that horn worked before trying it on the car.
A person with an volt-meter or a multi-meter could see if there is any electricity getting to the horn when you push the horn button. That would tell you if it were the horn, or something else.
You should also check the ground wire from the horn to the body, as the electrical components are no longer grounded to the frame, they now have a ground wire.
Many cars of today have the horn button and the air bag in the steering wheel together, so some shops will tell you it will cost up to many hundreds of dollars to fix the horn because the air bag is part of the horn system.
God bless your efforts.

SOURCE: 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan Horn Not Working

The most common problem with this is the clockspring, it is located just under the steering wheel. It will cause the horn not to work, airbag light to come on, and the cruise not to work. There is probably a recall on this. Contact a local dealer to see if the recall applies to your car.

I had the same problem and yes, it was covered by the recall warranty - clockspring, which my dealer replaced for nothing. The warranty recall is lifetime, so it doesn't matter how old the vehicle is or if you are the original owner.

SOURCE: horn stopped working, fuse and relay is good

With test light check voltage at horn assembly on both wire's, could only have one, horn assembly itself could be ground, have some one press horn button while checking, if there is voltage replace horn assembly, if no voltage horn pad at streeing wheel bad. that's being fuse and replay are good.

My 2001chrysler town and country van horn does not work

Check the horn relay to see if it works. Most cars use the same relays for multiple other functions. Check the part number on the horn relay and find another relay that is working that has the same part number. Swap out the horn relay with the known good relay. If that doesn't work, check all the wiring in association with the horn. If all the wiring is sound, then it is probably the horn itself, but that is very rarely the case.

Horn dosen't work

Check fuse. Usually located under the Steering wheel or under the hood. You will have to use the other side of the cover to determine which fuse controls the horn and see if the metal link is broken. If both are not blown its probably a short in the wire. If it randomly just happened then its a good first guess without knowing any further details.

Usually I check all my fuses any time I am looking for a specific one. Sometimes a random fuse can be the cause, and not the actual Horn fuse that is blown.

2003 dodge caravan airbag good horn doesnt work,so i jumped horn relay horn worked .so i now know relay to horn is good clock spring wiring horn pad?fuse compartment on wiring diagram has horn relay 20 amp...

if you check the wire that comes from the horn button to the relay for voltage when the horn is pushed and have voltage then you have a bad relay,if not then you probably have bad contacts in the horn pad area or even the clock spring itself.

I have a dodge gran caravan 3.3 engine and the horn does not work

Only one wire?? then its a ground wire, grounds a relay to energize the horn, disconnect the horn and see if you have voltage to it , if not it could be the relay, steering column not grounding, or a bad wire.

Horn inop 2003 grand caravan

Yes, it sounds like the connector on the horn could have been accidentally unplugged while the work was being done.

The horn is under the hood very near the front grill on left or right side.

Horn just went out

sounds like you have a bad horn or a wire has come off the horns can you feel the relay click when you press the horn inside the car?

the horns (two) on cars are usually located forward of the radiator and behind the grill.  Sometimes they are better reached from below the car.  And usually you need to remove some plastic shield to get to them.  The fuse is in the fuse box and should be marked as is the horn relay.

When you receive advice from this website you have to understand that without the item in front of us, we are only able to provide "a best guess" as to what the problem might be based on you description of the defect.  If you haven't described a clear and precise description of the defect you decrease the chances of an accurate reply.  Thank you.
