96 nissan P/U 2WD, feels like missing cyclinder should I replace EGR value?

Once the truck warms up, it feels like it's missing or hesitates, this happens during idling, acceleration, and sometimes at 65 MPH. If it is in gear (automatic) it will miss, but if in neutral it doesn't miss. The engine lite is on, but the diagnosis says trans switch. The P/U has 210,000 miles, I have replaced spark plugs, wires, distributor cap , and roto. The P/U has been running very well.

Disable the EGR valve and test. If issue is resolved you have 3 plugged EGR ports and all the EGR flow is being routed to # 4 cylinder resulting in misfire or the EGR valve is sticking open at times though you probably would not feel a misfire except @ idle & take-off.

SOURCE: nissan truck idles fine, does not acelerate well, and misses

Try to disconnect MAF sensor(mass air flow sensor) or MAP sensor (manifold absolute pressure) , I don't know which one you have , (suppose to have either one) , when engine running and see if it becomes any better , if it did , then it's your problem.
Just remember one thing , if your check engine light is off now , it will be on after you disconnect any above mentioned components.
Easy to reset , disconnect battery for 30 sec.

MY TRUCK IS RUNNING ROUGH AND HESITATING WHEN APPLYING GAS WHATS THE PROBLEM ITS A 1998 FORD EXPEDITION

With a scanner connected to the car it may have codes to help you find the correct problem. like P0300 is readom cylinder missfire ( this means that many cyclinders miss and can be a vacume leak to low fuel pressure to EGR valve hanging open) P0301 -P0308 can be any number of these cyclinders misfiring as the cyclinders are numbered( The boots on the coils going over the spark plugs fail or get oil or water or even antifreeze in them and they miss. To pull the coils you need to pull the injector rail and if your not a regulr mechainc you sould hire this work done as the things you can break the a regular mechanic won't, May save you more than what the pro is going to charge.

I have a 96 Old Ciera, feels like it's bucking/surging. More like hesitation while idling or driving. Has stalled a few times at stop signs, etc. Mechanic hooked up to computer, says bad egr and oxygen...

Had a similar problem that also caused the power brakes not to function. I believe there was a problem in the vacum fittings that was causing it to lose power but I am clearly not an expert.

Describe hoe to clean a EGR vavle on a 96 Nissan

i wouldnt clean it i would simply replace it. its about 100 dollars at autozone and while you have it off go ahead and clean the metal tube that goes into the housing that the egr valve attches to. its probably clogged up with carbon get a pocket knife and poke at it till it breakes then blow air into it to make sure its clear.

Missing out and dies when warm

reach to the underside of your egr valve and feel to see if the diaphragm moves as it warms up. if not you may need to replace it. be careful not to bur yourself though, the engine and egr can get very hot very quickly
