Is there a clutch safety switch on a 1994 nissan ultima or why would the car not start but has power everywhere else won't turn over or anything.

all standard vehicles have a neutral safety switch for many decades so people won`t try starting them in gear causing damage or hurting someone. it maybe open. its located at the base of the clutch pedal and as you push on the pedal all the way down it closes the switch to allow power to start the car. its a 2 wire switch so you can jump the 2 wires and see if the car will start. make sure the car is in neutral.

Trouble shoot 2500masda truck that won t start after I replace clutch and slave cylinder

Did you reconnect the wires and re-position the clutch safety switch at the clutch pedal assembly? If this switch is not positioned or connected correctly it will not allow the truck to start.

1997 Isuzu Rodeo when you push down on the clutch pedal to start it cranks and sputters, but I can get it start but when I push the clutch pedal down it will die. I can play around and get it to run for a...

Not the clutch assembly, but the start safety switch on the clutch pedal. The contacts could be corroded or just need be pushed onto the clip better to lock it on. I'd just unplug the thing from the connection and clop the two wires together to be sure that the problem is no longer a problem. Nonetheless, there is where your problem arises, from the start safety switch on the clutch pedal.

I have an nissan 2002 pathfinder 3.5 litre, it starts great 9 to 19 times then won't start for some reason, it takes 6 or 8 attempts to to start it finaly it just starts like othing was wrong and

check or have someone check your neutral safety switch by putting transmission in park, turn ignition switch to start, and move gear selector lever at same time. if engine starts while doing this test you need to adjust safety switch! If you have a manual trans make sure to push clutch pedal as far as possible while turning key!

'03 2.5L Ford Ranger Standard Trans, Engine at times won't turn over, does not click, battery is fully charged.

Neutral safety switch on the clutch pedal may be going out. Its a $15 fix. It tells the computer if the clutch is engaged. If it goes out its like trying to start with out pushing in the clutch, wont turn over at all. Hope this helps.

Car won't start. Starts w/o problems later on. i need to replace the neutral safety switch which has been getting stucked lately

if you can unplug the leads to the switch and then place an ohm meter on the two contacts, the switch should be opened when the clutch is not depressed and read ohms when the clutch is depressed

85' chevy manual truck ignition issues. won't start. i think its in the collumn somewhere. new keyswitch, starter, alternator, battery and cable ends.

When you say it won't start I assume you mean it will not turn over. Have you replaced the ignition switch? Not the key tumbler but the ignition switch. Have you checked the clutch safety switch?

Will not turn over, but will push off and start. Battery is good. Starter is good.

If you mean that you can physically push the vehicle and start it by popping the clutch in 1st gear there is a small safety switch when you press the clutch down all the way it presses in the switch which enables your ignition circuit to work. you can use a circuit tester with the key on one side will have power and the other won"t. Now if the switch functions properly when the key is on and the switch/button pressed in both sides should have power if not get a new switch or you could bypass it by removing the switch and connecting both wires together but I'd highly recommend replacing the safety switch as opposed to the alternative

Push in clutch engine will not start. want to know if it is clutch safty swich or starter motor. or what other solutions are possible

Could be either,or even a bad ignition switch... if you hear a click/tick when you push on clutch and attempt to start, then its the starter if not check clutch safety switch try wiggling or disconnect switch and see if that works. If not replace switch and FIX the problem. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

1989 Toyota Tercel 5 speed stick trouble starting

sounds like your clutch safety switch, the switch that keeps the vehicle from starting unless clutch pedal is depressed, is not working.. the correct thing to do would be to buy a new one.. on the other hand cutting the wires and wiring them together will work just fine.. but keep in mind the vehicle will then start in gear with out pushing in the clutch pedal so use extra precaution when starting if you decide to take this route.. hope i could help
