It sounds like it has jumped time. What year is the car and how many miles. Timing chains can go bad as early as 70,000 miles

I have a 2003 BMW Ci. I can drive the car all day long, stop start, but some times after a long day of this, it'll just start this hesitation when starting to drive after stopping. As time goes by...

Check the codes, you should find that you need to replace the crankshaft position sensor and/or the camshaft position sensor. You can take it to most auto parts stores and they will put it on a meter and run the code test for you. If you need more help, please do not hesitate to ask.

I have a 2001 IS 300 with 160,000 mi. I was having trouble starting the car in the morning where it would take 2 or 3 tries to get it to turn over. It is in a garage in California, so not in extreme cold....

try if this works\improves your situation;

turn the key to ON but don't crank, let it sit for 2 seconds. Do this 2-3 times, then put it in the ON position, wait 2 seconds then crank. As for what it is, could be spark plugs, fuel pump\line issue, etc..

Engine starves for fuel after running about 50 miles or so...

Has Neon do same, I ran fuel at low level, on hot day, ran engine until it started to act up & threw a fuel pressure gauge on it. Was at approx 5 psi. Cold next morning, 48-50 psi. Always hot day about 30-40 miles into work in morning, o.k. Sit in hot sun all day & would happen 3-4 times on way home. Sit and let cool, 20 minutes or so & go again for a while. Cool day, no problem. Change pump I would.

Low idle and hesitation when driving

i had a similar problem, with a different car though, and it turned out that the seals in the fuel pumps had been eaten away by the ethanol in the fuel i was using. i had the fuel pumps replaced as well as the filter and switched to a different fuel that contained no ethanol and i haven't had a problem since.
