These vehicles seem to have a problematic short, my grandfather has the same vehicle with the same problem, i found the short under the carpet on the driver side of the vehicle, under the gas pedal, sometimes wires can crack and break.

My 98 dodge caravan seems like all of the fuel injectors, or the fuel pump doesnt work. when i first start my car, the dashboard only half works. the speedometer doesnt read and the gas gauge doesnt move...

Hello,
This definitely sounds like an electrical issue. The first thing I would check would be your ground from the battery to the engine block. Make sure they are tight and secure with no breaks.

Everthing on my dash (speedometer,odometer,fuel

Blown Fuse or fried Circuit board. Take to a local AutoZone, Advance, Murray's, O'reillys or a similar part house for them to check the wiring. I'm assuming the van does not use a mechanical Speedometer or Fuel Gauge.

On the plus side, with no speedometer, your indicated odometer mileage does not increase. Just keep your speed down and your tank full. Kidding, just kidding.

Model 2002 dodge grand caravan sports dashboard not working speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge

If you look under the dashboard on the driver's side, there is a fuse panel. Under this panel is the BCM(body control module). There may be a bad relay in the bcm. Worse case scenario is a bad BCM. I hope this information is helpful to you, Good luck.

Speedometer

Sorry guys, but you may be facing a TCM failure. This is the computer brains of the outfit that causes problems such as erratic gauge performance, flashing map lights and surging of the engine. But it may not be either. Only a complete computer diagnosis can tell for sure.

TCM = They Cost Much $.
