SOURCE: air conditioning not working
the most likely cause of this lack of cold air is that the temperature control blend door motor actuator is defective, this part is located inside the dash, most require the dash to be removed to access the blend door and motor..

try removing the plug off the low pressure switch on the accumalator plug a paper clip into the plug and turn ac on if it comes on then your low pressure switch is bad or your low on refigerant.

You would be low on 134a. To put refegerant in an a/c system you need to pull a vaccume on the system. Any air in there it will not work. It would be worth the money to have some one do it. But I'd look at the compressor case halfs and see if they are leaking before having it charged. You could fix that yourself and pay some one to charge it, if they are leaking.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, all connectors are back on (snapped and tight.) When removed, the connector was checked with a test light, but nothing. I did also remove the pressure switch connector and bypass, but the compressor would not come on.
The fuses and relays I checked were under the hood, near coolant overflow tank. (Relay was same as fuel pump, so I just swapped them to test.) Did I miss any fuses somewhere? Thanks !
Thanks for sticking with this! This vehicle does not have a light on the control. However, all other functiosn work as far as fan speed and vent functions. I did check all the fuses and relays both under the hood and in teh passenger compartment.
If I remember correctly, the schematic I looked at when first trying to diagnose this indicated a diode that looked like it was across the connector at the compressor. I think my problem may be there or with the dash controller itself.
I appreciate any comments !
Is the light for the A/C switch "on" in the control panel? This will tell us if there is any current running in the system. There may be a 15 or 20 amp fuse in the interior fuse box that protects the control panel. If this fuse is bad, then there are no instructions going to the system in the engine compartment.
If you have a volt meter, check both sides of the AC fuse under the hood. Ground to the engine and hot to the test points on the back of the fuse. Sometimes those large fuses are deceiving. you can also try swapping the fuse with another circuit to test. The defroster (rear window) is usually a large amp fuse.
Are all the connectors replaced? check the connectors on the compressor to ensure that they are connected.
