SOURCE: glow plug timer fuse on 1984 Ford F 250

not a fuse ! Its a 60 amp circuit breaker under dash . If your glow plug timer is not working it most likely needs replaced ! it is located on top of the engine behind the air intake . if you don't know where it is , ask for the diagram at your auto parts store . they will also give you the exact location of the breaker and print it out for you .

I think the timer is under the sloinoid wich is under the airfilter. My timer went out so i just ran some wires from the sloinoid to a toggle switch in my truck and just warm em up like that, i just took the timer out of the equation

A commonrail diesel ford ranger won't start, but it crank

You would need to check the glow plug timer circuit and the fuel supply. Diesel glow plugs can wear out. Make sure the "Ready light" is working and that you hear the timer cycling. Usually the lights will dim as the power goes to the glow plugs.

The glow plug wire can be checked with a Voltmeter inserted on a wire from the Relay timer. The glow plugs are tested when they are removed from the engine. If you get this far, you can use battery cables to test them. They can melt. Ask for more details about proper procedure.

Bobcat s185

Make sure your battery is in good condition. It sounds like your glow plug cycle is taking all of the battery power and after the glow plugs kick off then you have enough power to crank the engine.

Ford focus 1.8tdci glow plug light only staying on for about 1sec in sub zero temperatures

When this problem occurred this usually means that one or more of the engine glow plugs is burnt out, the decrease in resistance sensed by the glow plug controller drops and this causes the timer to turn off to quickly, have the glow plugs tested and the glow plug controller replaced if needed.
