On my 04 trailblazer every time i brake ,the ABS kicks in,starts pumping fluid,the ABs light sometimes comes on for like a minute the turns off,how do i solve this?

Do you mean they are spongy or they quit altogether? If spongy, you probably have very low fluid in the reservoir and you are pumping air into the system (fill the reservoir and try again - however, may need a brake bleed, which is tricky with ABS systems). If the ABS is failing, you should see error codes (using a good code reader that will read the ABS ones). Lastly, your brake master cylinder may need to be replaced.

First you need to have EBCM - electronic brake control module check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . If the light is on there is a code stored . I think most part stores can do this and for free . After you find out what code is stored , looking up that code in service repair information for diagnostic trouble shooting chart would be next step . There are a few codes too.

Find the code do the diagnostic's , fix the problem , wiring issue's , a sensor , bad module ,what ever it is . The light will go out then . Here is a sample of code discription .

• DTC C0040 Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit

There is ALWAYS a reason.
Reasons that the ABS light will illuminate:

1. Brake pads, brake shoes, rotors, or drums worn beyond allowable specification;
2. Brake fluid level low, or brake fluid leaking;
3. Failed ABS control unit;
4. Failed ABS sensors at wheels

When the warning light comes on it should store a trouble code in the computer.
You would need to have the computer scanned to proceed with testing.

ABS LIGHT AND MODULE TROUBLESHOOTING:

Anti lock brake system light comes up when there is issue with car brake systems. It can be low brake fluid or faulty ABS fuse or its issue with brake system or assembly. Your vehicles brake system needs inspection.

Well u have to check brake pad sensor or brsk fluid level first

make sure rotors were machined and are not out of spec. bleeding the brakes to start. make sure you do it in the correct bleeding sequence.most are RR, LR, RF, LF. check with manufacturer to be sure for your application. also check the brake linings front and rear for contamination (grease, brake fluid etc.) if this doesnt get you anywhere then unplug the ABS module. yes it is ok to do so and no you will not lose your brakes by doing this. if the problem stops then you need to try to bleed abs module. bleed it the same way you would a wheel. make sure key is off for this. it is a high pressure system and can injure you if your not careful.. once bled if it does not solve problem you will have to replace abs module. you can get new from dealer, remanufactured from parts store or used from salvage yard. before you do any of that bleed the brakes good. having a buddy to help makes this easier. best way is to start with the sequence and pump the brakes about 10 times. hold pedal down and crack bleeder. then just pump 3 times and on the 3 pump hold. crack the bleeder and shut the bleeder before your helper releases the pedal. do this until there is nothing but fluid coming from the bleeder. keep an eye on the master cylinder making sure its full of fluid at ll times or you will have to start over

check your brake fluid level, brake system, wheel sensors. Dirty wheel sensors usually cause the ABS light to come on. As for the brake warning light, it may be low on fluid (possible leak) or faulty E-brake switch.

Abs sensor usually will make the ABS light come on the dash. I would guess a speed sensor problem.

If You don't notice a stopping problem, brake problem, just reboot system by disconnecting negative terminal on Battery for a minute or two, with key in ignition, radio on engine not running, after the two minutes, connect Battery terminal, do not panic if you notice some sparks wile connecting terminal, make sure is *** turn car key OFF and start engine and see if problem remains, if it remains sensor es defective
