This procedure usually works:
·Check the battery cable connections:
Make sure the negative cable makes a good ground connection at the battery and (preferably) at the engine. Make sure the positive cable, makes a good connection at the battery and at the starter.
·Check the battery the simple way, like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.
·Check the starter and solenoid:
If the wiring looks ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection, and proper voltage at the starter(10 volts minimum while cranking).
If the starter spins and no crank, the problem is most likely the Solenoid's pinion gear is stuck.
Have someone hit (not too hard) the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging a stuck pinion gear.
·Make a simple test of the alternator:
If you can, somehow get the engine running, measure the voltage at the battery. It should be at least 13.6 volts to properly charge the battery.
Gas light normally means no fuel.. must add at least 1/4 tank to the vehicle..may have frozen lines or air in them..put gas in it..turn the key on and off without cranking the engine about 6-8 times to activate the fuel pump ..you should hear the pump come on for about 2-3 seconds..then try to start.. if it wont start.. need to bleed air out by opening fuel line near the top of the engine by the tbi unit..once all gas comes out.. reconnect it and try to start...dont let get below 1/4 tank in cold weather...forms ice in the tank..

if not scan it while cranking, omg dTC errors. try not to guess
read the errors, lots can fail cold.

if yes, its fueling issue
cap is first. on tank filler, those too can freeze and fail, all by thereselves..(vacuum breaker faILURE)

wikiHowFreezing cold weather can take a toll on car batteries. ... It's much more difficult to start a cold car with a mostly-empty tank, so do yourself a favor and gas up ...
normally when cars wont start when its cold its the battery by a good battery witn a high number of cold cranking amps also make sure your gas tank stays over a half tank gas can freeze
Can you get any codes out of it..You said it wont start when its hot..So that means it will start first thing in the morning? Does it go dead while driving?Anyway is possible to drive it to advance or autozone,,if so they will scann it for free..If you get any codes it might help find out whats going on
do you get a spark first then go to the next steep, follow the spark from the coil to the plugs
then check to see if you are getting gas. Take off the fuel line and turn the key, maybe the gas froze too then check to see if the water pump cracked or it there are any cracks in the engine
