Check the hydraulic clutch is releasing /engaging the clutch plate. Replace the clutch master cylinder if there is no clearance at the clutch slave cylinder piston rod. If cable clutch replace the cable as it is not allowing the clutch to engage.

SOURCE: 92 Honda Accord, 5 speed, hard shifting into first & second gear.

First thing to do,try to pump your clutch before you shift into 1st gear then if you feel makes better, most probably you have problem with your hydraulic clutch system, check the clutch line if there is an evidence of fluid leaking or it could be internal leak.

Second thing to do, check your transmission oil, may be it' s too old or you use a thick oil thats why when cold its hard to shift then when the engine rich the normal temperature(warm) the oil become thin and the shifting will smooth. Remember the very old oil become thicken and the purity is gone and can cause of hard shifting. in this regards i suggest you to change the transmission oil and check the used oil if there is small peace of metals, then you are in big trouble,

Horsecrap...go to an independent transmission dealer after you call the extended warranty folks and complain!
I can count the number of Honda transmissions that go bad before 300,000 miles on one hand.

This doesn't help you much. And these codes indicate serious transmission problems. The internal parts are worn or broken causing the transmission to slip. It is possible that the problem is with an external sensor, but I doubt it
There was a recall on certain Honda transmissions a few years ago. Contact your local dealer or look online to see if there is any possibility you qualify. Good luck.

94 Accord Ex 2.2l Vtec will not engage passing gear

Sounds like it could be a problem something to do with the clutch perhaps? If the clutch or other components of the tranny are malfunctioning then it could very well be the source of quite a few elusive problems, and unfortunately the transmission on Honda's are known for hard-shifting, so i would have the transmission diagnosed just to see if everything checks out A-OK. Let me know how it goes!

"Sports" sensor l reading on the dash regarding the transmission.

It's going into safe mode. This link I included at the bottom of my note will explain everything. I just repaired this problem 3 weeks ago on a 91 Accord. She needs to find out if the transmission computer is burned out. If so replace it only from a 90-93 Accord that also has the Sport Shift feature.

My 1990 handa accord revs up and down after idaling

It's your "slow ideal valve" It's located on the intake manifold, near the driverside. There are 2 screws on top, remove the screws, Next get a flat head screw driver, now your gonna see a white plastic like saucer shape piece in there.. Now your going to turn the saucer shaped piece clock-wise and your screwing it back down, out the lid/cap back on, tighten the 2 lil screws, and start the car, the up nd low idle is gone..!!!!

It is probably your throttle position sensor on your throttle body. I motorcycle had that same problem. It was a recall. Maybe honda can help in that regard
