by new do you mean new or used new. as a used new trans may have the same problem. if its new go back to the place you bought it from and see what they will do for you under warranty. did you get the original trans problem checked out at a trans shop or just assume it was the trans. it maybe time to have it checked out at a reputable trans shop.
Yes you can. You need to use a New venture 5speed and the adapter to bolt up to the transfer case. Also if you are using the fuel injection system you need to replace the ecm with one for a manual trans.
Hello What happened is the tube that goes thru the radiator sprung a leak and coolant is getting in the trans and visa-vera so the answer that you got is 100% correct. But you have to change trans fluid and coolant and do NOT drive or you will be buying a new trans. Thanks
HI, I have a 350, brand new in one of my old skool muscle cars with a 350 trans that used to be a drag car trans.
We changed the gears in it to street gears (4:11 to 3:55 gears) and every once in a while it will not go to the high gear, so I pull over, put it in park then back to driving and it works beautiful each time!!!!
Nothing is wrong with this car at all, brand new engine and trans in a oldskool muscle car!!!
*** The point to the story is; nothing mechanical is "PERFECT", only God's creations right. ;)
So the moral is more than likely the problem is from the area of the "engine to the trans"(that junction) and I will say your trans gears may have problems, one look doesnot make it true!
Get a second mechanic to look at the trans inside...
Also, if you have too much fluid in the trans it will all be floating in trans fluid and will give you the same effect in any gear....
yes those chrysler minivans are known for bad trannys,,youll need a new one or a used trans,,,it will cost alot just to fix it,,,just replace then trans, common issue
IT HOLD APPROX. 13 QTS.USE MERCON V ONLY.U ADD IT THROUGH THE DRAIN HOLE.ADD FLUID UNTIL IT COMES.INSTALL PLUG & START.REPEAT UNTILL FULL.MAKE SURE TO SHIFT THROUH THE GEARS WHEN RUNNING
it is indeed under the trans pan. the trans pan is on the driver side of the car. it should have a fairly large drain bolt in it.
my i suggest that unless this service is absolutely needed that you leave your transmission alone.
chances are that your transmission is already malfunctioning, and if thats the case you will need a new transmission. as fluid changes have no effect on ultradrive transmissions that are malfunctioning.
in fact fluid changes on working ultradrive transmissions have been known to make them non-functional.
