1987 cavalier revs too high on shifting back to Park from Drive. We have checked the vacuum and removed the PCV.

You either have a defective idle speed control valve or a vacuum leak at the intake manifold or other vacuum operated parts like the brake booster.

I have no heat I have a new thermostat and the heater core dosent leak.

When you say you have no heat is this referring to nothing when control is turned on? Does fan work? or you have no hot air at all.If no fan could be a blown fuse [blower motor] thermostat could be installed incorrectly or faulty. Could be a faulty heater control valve if you have one not allowing hot water into heater core.

1987 chevy cavalier cs 4dr 2.0. sat a long time before i bought it, but upkeep was excellent. well, while driving sometimes for a couple seconds it would sputter and **** as if it was out of gas. even

Could possibly be the results of bad gas (old, stale)from sitting.Gas has a tendency of breaking down over a long period of time. Also could be a glogged fuel filter. Some models have an in line filter or it could be in the fuel tank. Also possibly water in fuel tank from sitting try adding dry-gas to fuel .

I want to find out how much my Chevy cavalier is worth. It has 90,000 miles on it. Mint condition.

You can use several websites including NADA and Kelly Blue Book. It would depend on where you live and the options on the car.

87 cavalier fuse location

Engine Compartment Fuse Box
  • Open the hood and look on the wall of the engine compartment on the driver's side. About 3/4 of the way from the front of the car to the windshield you will see a large black box. This is the engine compartment fuse and relay box. Undo the clip holding down the front of the box and open it; it is hinged on the back so the top opens like a door.
Passenger Compartment Fuse Box
  • Open the driver's side door. Kneel down on the ground by the foot pedals. Look on the driver's side wall under the dashboard. You will see a small black box right by the door. This is the passenger compartment fuse box. This box also has a clip to keep the front closed and hinges on the back.
