Passenger side door will not open from inside or outside. 1995 Nissan Maxima. It seems like the door lock is not disengaging all of the way. The latch handle on the inside feels like the rod is still function it just will not open because the door is locked

Hey, Thanks but the door will not open at all so I cannot get to the door panel. I took the drivers side door panel off and have a pretty good idea how the door mechanism works. I was pulling up on thte door lock linkage and got the door lock to the full unlock position and the door will still not open. From what I can see all of the bars are in place. It seems like the acutator that the lock rod is attached at the bottom is not letting the door be in the unlcoked position at the very bottom where the electric door lock part is. Would a slim jim work?? Again, thanks so much for your time.

Linkage on inside of door has come undone. take off inside door panel and you will find a small rod that goes to the lock mechanism where the door closes opposite the hinges. follow the handle to the door lock.the nylon bushing may have broken.they are cheap to purchase at auto part stores.

1986 nissan 300zx passenger door wont open from inside ,can from outside

Remove the inside door handle cover , Take out the piece that has yhe rods attached to it . There is 2 black plastic pieces that one opens the door and the other one locks the door. One is broken . The one that opens the door from inside, Reolace the piece and put the rods back on. put cover on . Done.

My nissans alarm is set by the drivers door. my key dont unlock the door how can i reset it so i can drive it? my car wont start

will your key work in the passengers side?
If so I asume you have electric door locks. open drivers door from inside shut the passengers door. go around to the drivers side shut the door lock the doors from inside then unlock the doors open door shut door and try to start it...as far as disableing it you will have to take it to nissan electrical tec.

Passenger door lock doesn't open when I click the locking control on the door. I can use the key and I can pull the inside lever to open it.

check to see if you are getting power and ground to the passenger's side lock actuator (motor) when ever it locks or unlocks. if it does get both, change the actuator out.

My front passenger door does not open neither from the inside or the outside. it looks like the lock is stuck in the locking position and won't open from the drivers side push button or the passenger's...

hi deleon,

on your door, if you remove the panel from the inside, you should see a lever connected to the handle that is supposed to disengaged the door hinge opening the door.

your may have this part broken due to corrosion, or there is a possibility that the lock did not disengage leaving the lever connect to the door handle not disengaging the door hinge.

have this checked with a local mechanic or consult the service manual for DIY.
