The built up pressure is about 6 p.s.i., you can relief the pressure by first unscrewing your gas cap and that familiar "hiss" sound is the pressure escaping from the tank. The fuel filter is in the engine compartment on the passenger side mounted on the firewall. You should see 2 hoses. You'll need a 10mm & 17mm socket & wrench. You should see a small scew (10mm) on top of the hoses. There's residual pressure in the filter so you'll need a rag to mop up any gas that spills over. Take off the hoses (17mm) but be careful not to loose any of the brass washers on the top & bottom of the hose. Take off the mount if it helps you repositon & replace the filter. Screw everything back and that's it!

An '80 prelude still on the road? The filter should be very simple. Loosen the fuel line clamps, pull the old out, put the new one in, making sure the direction of flow is correct. Tighten up the hose clamps, run the engine and check for leaks at the fittings.

SOURCE: not getting power to fuel pump

You won't get any voltage to the fuel pump, until you "crank" the engine. It picks up a signal from the distributor which then talks to the ECM telling the car to turn the fuel pump on. The main relay is bad about going out on Honda's but they usually cool down and work, until you shut the car off. I'm leaning more towards a bad distributor.

SOURCE: have a 1989 honda prelude si cant find fuel filter

Carbureted engines: Two filters; a small one is in the fuel line under the hood; a larger one is located at the rear, just inboard of the left rear wheel.
Fuel-injected engines: the filter is located in the engine compartment, against the firewall, just to the left (as you face the engine) of the throttle housing, and slightly lower (follow the fuel line from your fuel rail, where your injectors are, back to it). It has two fuel lines (in and out) going to it, and it is held in place by a clamp which bolts it to the firewall.
Hope this helps you find it.

SOURCE: my 1998 gen 5 honda prelude wont start. It seems

could be all of the above. what you need to do is verify fuel pressure with a gauge set. or you can try a small spray of ether engine starter. if the engine starts and then stalls you know its something relating to fuel. but without a gauge its going to be impossible to determine which part

I'm in need of the engine bay wiring diagram for a 1980 Honda Prelude, specifically for the cooling system/thermo-fan.

Try jumping the green cooling fan switch with a wire and see if it turns on while the car is on, if it does then it's probably your module.

Replaced fuel pump and filter on a 89 honda prelude and it still will not turn over any suggestions

the reason it wont start is because of the fuel pump relay is faulty.. just run a wire from the inside of your trunk from 1 of the wires on top of the tank to ur fuse box... it will always start from now on....

Locating and changing the fuel filter.

you can pull fuel injector fuses and remove the gas cap but try to start it a few times so it relieves the pressure that was there...if it does not work on some honda i put a rag underneath the fuel rail and open the large bango nut that connects the line to the fuel rail just crack it 3/4 turn till it leaks a little and let it squirt out the pressure just wear eye protection its pretty easy fuel filter to do..

Sounds like a fuel pump problem. Have you checked the output of the fuel pump?
