SOURCE: Looking for low pressure port for servicing Freon

The ports on my 2005 silverado are on the same line, which is very confusing but, in between the two ports is the metering device (orifice) which changes the high pressure gas into a low pressure gas.The two ports are of a different size, with the low pressure being the smaller of the two. You can put your hand on the line, on each side of the metering device connection and the high side will be hot and the low side will be cold

Where is the low pressure ac port

Not positive for this model, but usually passenger side, near the firewall, inline and perpendicular to a silver tube about the size of an average man's pinky finger, with a plastic cap that is either black or blue and has a large "L" molded into the top. Likely half-hidden behind hoses, tubes, wires, etc. Alternative location is near the radiator, same side.

Where is the ac lowside port located on a 2005 gmc savanna van

The low side port of the 2005 GMC savanna Van is located on the low pressure side of the compressor.

This is found by locating the compressor driven by a belt that has a clutch that engages and disengages as the a/c cycles.

The low pressure piping is always in the larger diameter piping, and the high pressure side is always contained in the smaller diameter piping.

Therefore, follow the thick pipes from the compressor up to the accumulator, which looks like a large can of soup. On the accumulator receiver/drier is a port that connects to the tube that is connected to the can of r134a freon refrigerant.

Simply quick connect the tube to the low side port, which is located on the 'thick' tubing or on the accumulator and then fill until the low side pressure is 25 psi to 45 psi while the compressor is running.

When the car is off and the compressor is not running, the pressure should be 75 psi to 100 psi on a hot day.

Hopefully the system doesn't have a leak slow or fast in it.

Can't find the fitting to recharge the air conditioner

  • The low-pressure service gauge port valve is located on the suction accumulator.
  • The high-pressure service gauge port valve is located on the LH top of the condenser core.

  • To access the low pressure port you have to remove the right front wheel and inner fender.

A/C pump cycles ever second or two.

Follow the big hose/line this is the low pressure/suction side and the service port will be on this side of the system. May be on the receiver/drier or on the back of the compressor. Sorry I cant remember an exact location.
