CLUTCH i HAVE A HYUNDAI N REG ACCENT 15,000 MILES, THE CLUTCH IS NOT SLIPPING BUT I HAVE TO PUMP THE PEDAL TO GET IT TOO WORK , DOES IT NEED BLEEDING OR A NEW CLUTCH, HAVEN'T DRIVEN IT FOR TWO YEAR THOUGH, NO OTHER PROBLEMS I DON'T THINK OR HAVE NOTICED.

its the same process as bleeding brakes- except you pump the clutch pedal and loosen the clutch slave cylinder located by the front motor mount instead of a brake slave cylinder.

what i do is just loosen the slave cylinder bleeder screw and let it all run dry. then disconnect the reservoir from the master cylinder and clean it out with brake cleaner because all that black junk rests in the bottom of that. theres still more in the line, so reattach the reservoir and fill it up. let it bleed all the way back down the line and proceed to pump and bleed the system. if you know how to bleed brakes it should be a piece of cake.

seems a bit early for clutch. how many k's? I would start by checking the intake tube for splits & security & airflow sensor. they will cause the engine to rev but no response (like a slipping clutch) so its manual right?

The clutch in this car is a hydraulic design and is self adjusting. If you have a hard pedal with high pedal engagement or a slipping condition you are going to need a new clutch installed.

my accent 1.5 1996 has an Safety imobilizer linked into the clutch pedal. hold in clutch before starting, else check under the clutch for a small switch this may be the problem?!?

leak is usually at the slave cylinder. If leaking, replace the slave. Make sure to bench bleed the slave and plug its port before installing. refill the reservoir and bleed the system. To bleed, open bleeder at slave, have an assistant step on the pedal, and close the bleeder before they let the pedal up. Repeat until all air is out. If you have questions, please let me know.

Have noticed a leak in the area of your slave cyl? You you have a new one will fix the problem. just install it add fluid, bleed it, ( add fluid reinstall the cover, have someone help or just take the bleed screw loose let the new fluid drain thru. get in and pump the pedal ck the fluid in the res. add fluid. keep this back and forth till you feel a good pedal. done. Work slow, be careful.

hi considering age of car and that you have no leaks on hydraulics? may i suggest you try bleeding the clutch to rid of old fluid a couple of pumps may be suffice ? b/fluid does absorb moisture and heat over time hence recommendation tat fluid be changed at period specified in handbooks ie 12 monthly ?

It is a proprietary Hyundai transmission fluid. Don't use anything other than the Hyundai stuff. This fluid has superb lubrication properties, but it breaks down much quicker than the specified 30,000 mile fluid change intervals. I highly recommend having both the fluid and filter changed once a year or once every 15,000 to 20,000 miles.

hi the clutch on accent is hydraulic operation so if pedal is very low on disengaging clutch ? you may have a problem with the hydraulics 1st thing to check is fluid level? this is the reservoir that feeds both brakes and clutch but is seperaterated inside if fluid low? top up and bleed the slave cyl however if fluid low indicates a leak ? possibly slave cyl? if no loss of fluid ? then prob may be fault in the master cyl ? check fluid come back with any update please ps if this problem has just occured? check for leaks ?
