if it doesn't have a transmission dip stick --you don't
Holden is GM and GM do not supply fill points as they have a policy of not servicing transmissions
otherwise you fill it via the dip stick hole the same as other autos

gm transmissions are infamous for there transmission failures. and gm refuses to recall them. (I found out from many people and mechanics with the same problem) had been made of cheap metal, and eventually shatters. gm finally made the part from steel on 2003 and later models. go to (my3cents.com) on computer. click on gm complaint 2002 transmission. hope this helps toolman,

I assume you are disassembling to rebuild. A manual is your best bet. Haynes shows a GM auto trans manual,#10360. You could also look at faxonautoliterature. They have the original GM service manual for your truck, which would have a section on auto transmissions. They also list a GM trans rebuild book for that specific transmission. Hope this helps.

Your best bet is to call a GM dealer and talk to someone at the parts counter, also most "junkyards" have volumes of books that list what years use what parts and so on. I can tell you from very recent experience (this week) that the 97 sunfire with a 5 spd manual transmissions had one of two different transmissions in them, the only way to find out which one it is, is to call a GM dealer with the VIN number. on a side note, I work at an autoparts store and had researched transmission replacement when my problem came up, and what I found was that transmission "suppliers" (companies that remanufacture engines and transmissions) that do manual transmissions for "passenger cars" are hard if not impossible to fin. replacing it will open only 3 options: find one in good condition at a junk yard (if possible), 2. Go through GM and pay more than the car is probably worth (again recent research proves that this is a fair statement) or 3. find a transmission shop to rebuild yours (probably your cheapest and safest solution).
