The release at the bottom of hatch can be ---rusted normal in northeast --- linkage popped or broken --linkage clip popped or broken --- need to crawl into back and remove the plug [ lower center of rear hatch panel will need a long screw driver and light will see linkage and latch push down on linkage arm and push open hatch when opened you can remove the rear panel and assess the problem but lube the latch and upper window latch

SOURCE: My 2006 Yukon tailgate will

I have the same problem. This is a faulty actuator switch according to GMC which controls the tailgate and the hatch window. My 2006 has 90,000 miles on it (I purchased new). Warranty is not an option and cost is estimated @ $600.00 in Arizona. As far as I am concerned, it is safety related issue and should be a recall since there isn't a mechanical way to open the tailgate or window as an escape route in the event of failure.

SOURCE: 2006 gmc yukon back door/hatch won't unlock

Check battery voltage. if above 13.7 volts move to rear lock actuator and measure battery voltage at actuator if above 13.6
replace actuator if below specs. check grounds and alternator out put as follows, alternator output 13.7 to 14.25 volts. key off battery volts should be 12.90 + - 3/10 of a volt and about the same voltage at the actuator. let me know. kindest regards Bill

SOURCE: 2005 gmc yukon back passenger doors will not

My wife's 2003 Yukon wouldn't lock the rear doors or hatch, but it would unlock. My problem was the lock relay was bad. There are two relays, one for lock and one for unlock. They are located in the fuse panel on the left side of the console. Open the drivers door and you will see a cover that pops off. Behind this are several fuses and relays. Consult your manual to see which is the lock and unlock relays. They are side by side on a 2003. They pull straight out. I replaced both and they were around $10 apiece at any auto store.

SOURCE: Back door nor the window of my 2006 GMC will open

It could be the Trunk release relay located behind the passanger front seat in that column. the part is like $20 at advance auto parts. I had the same problem but it didnt fix mine. i had to get the whole liftgate actuator replaced. $400 at a dealer, also that isn't a part you can get at the auto part store. its a dealer only part. you can check at a junk yard and maybe get it a lot cheaper

GMC Envoy Denali 2006, heated seats don't work, driver seat adjustment doesn't work (passenger does), rear tail gate won't open nor will window hatch. All happened at same time.

They wouldnt have a common fuse, so I'd look for a bad ground. Search online for a wiring diagram that shows ground locations.
