UNDERNEATHE THE HOOD THERE IS A FUSE BOX THAT IS COVERED ON THE PASSANGER SIDE FIREWALL. REAL EASY TO GET TO.
TAKE TOP OFF AND TURN TOP UPSIDE DOWN AND READ THE CHART TO SEE WHICH FUSE BELONGS TO THE CIG LIGHTER AND CHANGE IT OUT. REALLY SIMPLE. GO TO AUTOZONE AND ASK SOMEONE TO HELP IF YOU ARE UNSURE. THE FUSE IS SO TINY ALSO!

check the wiring on the back of the lighter, center hot plug, side ground spade. make sure both are clean and tight.

check to make sure you can see contacts inside of cigarette lighter, just in case a small piece of plastic didn't fall/melt inside.
a new socket is inexpensive.

1994 honda accord can't fine fuse for my cigarette ligher to replace

In earlier model vehicles, the cigarette lighter is on the same circuit as the dash lights/ radio/ interior lights. Maybe it's not labeled as cigarette lighter, try other fuses. also, there should be a fuse panel both inside dash and under the hood. Also, sometimes there can be an in-line fuse right behind the cigarette lighter.

Dig the penny out first with something like tweezers..then change the Cigarette lighter fuse in your fuse panel. Location is on side of dash on drivers side behind the fuse panel. The cigarette lighter shares the same fuse as the door locks.

Need location of fuse box containing cigarette lighter fuse

On some vehicles the cigarette lighter fuse is attached to the cigarette lighter assembly itself. Check if you can gently prise the cigarette lighter assembly out of its location in the dashboard, or remove any panel that may allow access to the rear of the cigarette lighter and look for the fuse (it may be an in-line one in the power lead to the cigarette lighter or it may be physically attached to the cigarette lighter itself). Failing that, the fusebox is normally under the dashboard on the driver side, but some fuseboxes can be found under the dashboard on the passenger side. There should be a diagram under the fusebox cover that shows what circuits each fuse protects. If a fuse has blown ensure that another of the same type and value is used to replace it.

Cigarette lighter doesn't work.  Tried replacing fuse, but fuse is ok.  How do you remove the front centre dashbaord panel to gain access to cigarette lighter wiring on a 2005 Jeep cherokee ?

before u pull panel, check for 12vdc with voltmeter inside lighter socket. If u have it, then clean contacts and/or replace lighter(not socket, wiring is fine) May save a lot of work. If you don't have voltage are you 100% sure you have right fuse and not the one below, above, or next to it? I still make mistakes with numbered fuses, which number is for which fuse. To make sure I start counting at 1.

Cigarette lighter fuse..

Its in the main fuse panel under the hood on the drivers side. There are two different fuses ones marked acc prw that's for the two non cigarette lighter plugs. The other is marked cigar that's for the cigarette lighter.
