Your best bet is that there maybe a 5 digit number in your glove compartment ..if there isn't there maybe a longer digit number in that case you need to call a dealership and ask them for a radio code and just follow what they tell you to do

SOURCE: Input code for stereo needed for my 2001 volvo s40

Each radio has a different code. You need to call a Volvo dealership and read them the vin number and they can pull the code up for you

SOURCE: code stereo volvo 1993 850 GLT

If you need the security code, you need to call a Volvo dealer and give them the VIN number, provided it is the same stereo the car came with.  Most dealers will do it for free, if you can't find one, call Boston Volvo Village.

SOURCE: Alarm system

I first bought a 1990 volvo turbo 760. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS VEHICLE! it was rear wheel drive and VERY easy to work on. it was a BLAST to drive and blow 5.0 mustangs off the road with a 4 cyllinder. I loved driving that car so much I bought a 1998 S70 Volvo (kept the 760 model). turns out I paid ALOT MORE for just another toyota camary with a Volvo nameplate. I didnt keep it long. it just wasnt the same. the interior started falling apart from day one.
I know the dissapointment... if it were me I would not spend any money on the alarm system. but if I did I would get the aftermarket version installed.
PLEASE dont let the timing belt break on this car!!!!! it wont be the same as your old one! it will be $4000 damage to the engine if it breaks. change it out early!

SOURCE: volvo S40 radio pass code needed

You will have to contact the local Volvo dealer with your VIN number. You can check your owners manual to see if it is written down in there also.

2004 mazda rx8 immobilizer system

Only after market systems have valet over ride switches.
From what you said, the RX8 is shut down from
the factory immobilizer,
The IM05 bypass module is designed to circumvent this
but it's dependent on you having the original
programmed ignition key to do it.

Also, the system must not be damaged, or the code
lost from the keys or it won't do that.

Mazda may also need to reprogram the immobilizer code
for you to procede. Have that bit of info looked at
first.

Radio anti-theft code needed for '96 volvo sedan 850

Try to un connect battery, wait 10 minuets and connect the battery. After that you can type in code again. Volvo dealer should have the radio code. The code is writhed in to a computer system on the factory.

1992 960 volvo wagon 208k. Daughter left lights on drained battery - jump started and driving well, however stereo won't work now. Any ideas????

If it is a combined radio/stereo system the drained battery may have caused it to lose it's code - you will need to re-enter the radio code to make it work properly. This is similar to removing the battery from the car - you have to re-enter the radio code before the radio will work.

If there's no power at all to your stereo it's possible that jump-starting the car has caused a power surge that has blown a fuse. Depending on what type of radio/stereo is fitted, there usually is a small in-line fuse in the wiring at the rear of the unit. Check the fuse.
