The amber lights in the bumper are a complete unit, (bulb cannot be removed without some or all of the amber light assembly) so unfortunatey you will have to go to your Volvo spare parts store & pick one up - front & back are different, as are left & right - check it. I paid €25 for a unit in Ireland.

Changing is a case of unscrewing as much of the bumper as you need to access it and clipping it out. It takes quite a bit of force to clip the new unit back.

Unfortunately I can't help about dash bulb.

2003 Volvo v40 Runs awesome Won't pass smog because check engine light won't light. wouldn't it throw a code if it had a bad connection or broken wire? No codes it just doesn't work. HELP

There is a light bulb inside the dashboard that needs to be replaced. You unscrew the dashboard and then unclip the dash cluster out from the dashboard and replace the bulb behind the check engine light slot. Should take less than a half hour. Most auto parts stores stock the bulbs.

Changing turn signal on front bumper

All front light bulbs should be accessible, you will need to remove the 2 headlight bulbs...be sure to match the amber color if your Ciera still has the original bulbs:) The side marker light bulbs are reachable and can be changed by removing the 1 hold down bolt too...:)

The lights have stopped working on the heater controls on my V40. 2001 with auto A/C. Can i repair it or do I need to buy the complete unit.

The lights are just small replaceable bulbs, so to repair just replace the bulbs. It will be much cheaper and it helps save the planet. Perhaps it would be best when buying the bulbs from the Volvo parts desk to ask about the best way of accessing the dead ones. It used to be that the knobs would pull off and the facia would be easy to remove. I confess that my detailed knowledge in this specific area only really applies to the older Volvos

How do I replace the front bumper in order to replace the front headlights?

You shouldn't need to remove a bumper to replace the front headlight. Simply open the hood, and you should be able to see the back side of the headlights in the engine compartment at the front. There will be bolts/clips holding them in place.

Loosen these and pull out (you can disconnect the electrical supply too) and replace the bulb, then put back together the same way you took it apart.

Replacing tag light

You probably figured this out by now, but in case you haven't... Reach up behind the rear bumper, rotate the bulb holder counterclockwise, then withdraw the holder from the housing and pull the bulb out. In some instances, the license light housing is held to the bumper with clips, and if you have a step on the bumper the housing is removed by pulling the housing upwards while pulling out at the bottom.

SIDE MARKER LIGHT, PASSENGER SIDE

Assuming you are talking about the side marker bulb in the bumper, you need to get behind the bumper and un bolt the lens from the back side to change lens or if just bulb replacement twist socket counterclockwise to remove from lens and then change bulb. Keep in mind if the bumper has been hit this will be very difficult to do unless you loosen up bumper and pull out.
